This man and his obsession with two week time frames.

The stupidest people are in charge because we couldn’t prosecute a political crime because it would look too political.

Guess my question is: how many Republicans, in light of the assassination and attempted assassination in MN this morning, spoke out or showed up at a march. Today I focused on family and supporting my neighbors. Complicit mfuckers sang along with non-licensed music at a parade.

The more you know…

I had the pleasure of discovering @justinwolfers.bsky.social after @betseystevenson.bsky.social gave a lecture at the Uni I work for and, I have to say- we Americans need more concise, clarifying & accessible economic content in media like this! KEEP IT UP. Econ powerhouses, those two!

In light of the chaos of the world, here is a moment of zen brought more you by my first peony blooms of the season #bloomscrolling

As aN American Poli Sci/Econ double degree holder: this shit in the US is both SO gross and soooooo interesting to ingest. Like WTF.

THIS.

One of the bits that plays on loop in my head when I listen to the actual news lately… wtf is happening… aaaargh. Having studied Political Science and Economics and now working in higher ed I am BAFFLED at the shit see, hear and read. Lots of the US didn’t take/understand Civics class and it shows.

I smell a grift…

Yes. YES.

Remember, those who claim to be enraged that an almost imperceptible amount of federal dollars goes to NPR and PBS are currently before the Supreme Court demanding that your taxpayer money be spent to fund a Christian school in Oklahoma that definitionally trafficks in propaganda

“If we don’t understand what’s happening and why it’s happening, you can’t be adapting. … You’re just going to suffer,” said a member of NOAA’s scientific advisory board. “We’re going to see huge impacts on infrastructure and lives lost in the U.S.” By @abrahm.bsky.social

Tom Emmer refuses three times to answer a question about if Trump has legal authority to deport American citizens (the answer is "no")

So… this was supposed to be about Paul Revere’s ride, but the Senator just unloaded about the Trump administration and its Republican enablers. Far more newsworthy than I expected. (You can probably see me shifting to “crap, this was not the interview I prepped!” but the result was memorable.)

Wow. A great read and well - spot on.

While I count down the weeks and months until our blooms start to pop, I will enjoy this little explosion of color during the “still grey” time in the Northeast that I saw at an event yesterday (a self-made bouquet by the event director).

All day, every day. #internationalwomensday

A reminder for these times.

So GD good. One of my favorites… Judith Slaying Holofernes (Artemisia Gentileschi, Naples)

"History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for."

Dear Dems (and all other pro-democracy elected officials): please PLEASE stop fundraising to drive voters to complacency- CALL US TO FUCKING ACTION. We elected you to lead, LEAD.

Baking and cooking has always been therapeutic for me. Been doing it a LOT since early November. Weekly bread: olive Tonight’s dinner: seared duck breast w/grains and asparagus (Pizza for the pre-schooler, unless we get her to try the duck, which would be a huge win!)
