Same thing I think every Father’s Day - what’s a father? Some of you have TWO parents supporting you? That must be nice.

When are we (UK) having our No King Day?

Her opinion on this subject is as relevant and as informed as mine is on brain surgery. In fact, mine is probably more informed as I am at least able to admit what I do and don't know.

Morning all, another glorious day in London.

What the actual…?

It’s Friday the 13th and #FridayReads! Let’s boost all signals and put books in front of readers. Repost this and let us know what to repost for you. I’m sharing House of Bone and Rain because it’s almost half off right now! Get some. Go ahead, share what you love! www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0316...

UNBOUND AUTHORS: The administrators are scheduling a second creditor meeting to address concerns brought forward over director conduct. If you would like to attend, YOU MUST FILL OUT THE ADMINISTRATORS PROOF OF DEBT FORM (it’s simple and not scary). DM me with your emIl to be forwarded it

Incredible to see @ljross.bsky.social make this move. Cornerstone must be seriously impressive to have secured this deal. As always, I will thoroughly enjoy watching Louise and James continue to soar. www.thebookseller.com/rights/self-...

I'd say the journalism around this has been far from adequate, needs a deep dive exposé.

Someone needs to ask Starmer, pointedly and directly, "does Iran have the right to defend HERself?" But nobody will because nobody who'd ask that would ever be allowed to be a journo in Britain. The Guardian's calling it an attack on "nuclear sites" while showing the smoking remains of homes.

Friday the 13th, you say.

Well, as I and many have been asking, what else must Israel do before the international community stops them? They have total impunity. And honestly, everyone who has stayed silent for 20 months has played a part in normalising this. TERRIFYING.

PW spoke with Ellen Oh, co-founder of We Need Diverse Books, about the group’s beginnings, its accomplishments, the impact of book bans, and what people can do to combat censorship buff.ly/5LG7XPQ

If you’ve got a young person in your life who might like a beautifully illustrated book about the history and science of time, you can order a signed and dedicated copy of “About Time” here: www.bookabookshop.co.uk/shop/about-t...

hahahahahahaha

Look what arrived…

Really would be a glorious day for children’s publishing if @harpercollins.bsky.social announced that they are going to bin their Nazi-saluting, stereotype-laden, creepy author and invest that money into 100 completely new children’s authors & illustrators.

Seriously, imagine excusing Nazi salutes because the person who did them is powerful/rich/useful and still thinking you can take the moral high ground on other issues.

Given what’s happening in the world, I’ll assume many will defend him. Probably the same people who think wanting an end to children being killed is antisemitic. Nazi salutes by powerful white men = OK Wanting Palestinian children to not be slaughtered = Antisemite

Let’s see if @harpercollins.bsky.social finds this unacceptable? Personally, I feel like children’s books and Nazi salutes aren’t compatible 🤔 www.thetimes.com/uk/media/art...

Just had 35 emails in a row from Evri about one parcel they’re delivering with 35 different tracking numbers. How’s your day going?

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” It costs less to house people.

Sometimes it really does feel like this industry is run by public school boys who have little to no understanding of the real world, living on a low income etc

This looks very cool.

I've just had an email from an ex-Unbound boss who told me that nowhere near £1m was spent on this AI machine - the £1m was a whole round of funding spent on Unbound running costs etc. I did think that was an insane amount. That said - my thread holds but with less ££ involved.
