I had the same thought when I saw Drew's post and for all the celebration for referral traffic on bsky, a lot of people don't link to what their talking about!

This boils my blood. ICE quotes in this story make it sound like it shouldn’t be a big deal, but the location, the community, the timing during dinner on a Friday, it’s so performative. They are parading this cruelty in liberals faces www.kpbs.org/news/border-...

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/o...

Abundance, but of journalists

Rebecca Solnit on compromise: "If I think the world is round and you think the world is flat, I don't really make the world better by saying it's kind of a squashed oblong."

Yea alright but the pro-Israel movement faces no uncertainty as Israel starves the people of Gaza. Why continue to conflate dissent with violent acts?

Great time seeing strfkr, mag bay and Janelle Monae (what a performer!). Been ages since I last went to a festival..definitely recommend ear plugs, they saved me.

This says a lot to me. Of course Heritage is behind so much of the bluster. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/05/18/u...

The fruit was good but a little sour

The lack of compassion for Palestinians is so strong, Ms Rachel is getting thought policed about her support for malnourished, amputated children who are also losing their families and society.

Just happy to be here

The more you know…they are running government inefficiently for paranoia around fraud. Can we ever get past this online bubble? DOGE went looking for phone fraud at SSA — and found almost none - Nextgov/FCW

It is amazing to me that Dems are pressured to water down their messaging in order to avoid alienating 'centrists,' but Republicans can round up and deport sobbing children without fear of alienating 'centrists.' Says a lot about what we mean when we say 'centrists'

Frankly I want to see this compared to Claudine Gay’s paper

I realize I’m just shouting into the wind here, but: please, please, please stop posting screenshots without links, or summarizing breaking news events without links. There’s a serious problem with unsourced assertions all over the world right now, don’t be part of the problem.

A Chi Pope would be a great title for season 3 of The Young Pope

Two Cents is one of my favorite financial literacy YouTube channels, for the better part of a decade. This is a great and tidy explainer what the CFPB agency (that Trump admin wants to destroy) actually does. And it’s horrifying to me that ... https://samfiske.net/2025/05/07/two-cents-is-one-of.html

These people simply aren’t Christian, much less catholic.

I throw the PBS Kids app on almost every morning for my little one. Defunding cancer research, Safe to Sleep, maternal health programs, science, kids programs, Head Start…nothing pro-life about any of these ghouls www.nytimes.com/2025/05/0…

The war on Christmas is back

Thanks LinkedIn, more compassion. Here I go!

Trying to be better about posting my own work on here. I’m proud of how far the KC Podcast has come! Our VP of Product Brian Belley learned a lot in DC how the SEC is viewing regulatory changes for retail and private markets kingscrowd.com/kingscrow… @kingscrowd.com

On being called DEI and why it isn’t the burn they think it is

“Mistakes will be made”

Yes. Gimme that greasy mayo- covered chicken patty

Run a few ads with this screenshot, soon enough it’ll be on Joe Rogan talking to some chud about parenting

It’s funny how this is already out of date since Trump is lowering tariffs. I find it less funny how being a man is constantly reflected as doing something tough, but never a thought about its consequences. That makes it less tough to not consider others, don’t you think?

It's like people read about Hitler and the path to WWII but totally failed to absorb the part about appeasement and how it didn't work.

Really struggling with the evil erupting. And this is just background noise for so many. Will it even appear on news shows tomorrow? (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/04/world/middleeast/gaza-israel-aid-workers-deaths-video.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share)

One of my goals for intention is book reading. Both to learn more about the problems in the world I have questions about, and for entertainment. Sarah’s account manages to be one of those reads that accomplishes both. Insightful and a breez... https://samfiske.net/2025/04/04/one-of-my-goals-for.html

When people ask me if they should stay on X, or why they should move off of it, I’m leaning towards just sending this infographic looking at Elon’s - and the right’s - outsized influence on the platform. You can read more about that study... https://samfiske.net/2025/03/30/when-people-ask-me-if.html

I, too, would like a piece of that strawberry cheesecake Kit Kat bar

Not a good sign and this guy sucks!

American civil society is full of abject cowards, that is the issue. The government is a mafia state but it is winning because most American elite institutions are devoid of anything resembling integrity and are folding rather than stand on principles that were little more than marketing.

We cannot abide a Democratic Party that continues to be weak and acquiescent in the face of this. Enough is enough.

to be clear, this is what mass deportation looks like: going after parents, grandparents, neighbors, workers, people building (or who have built) American lives who have done more to enrich their communities than any person serving in this monstrous administration

I grew up on many a car ride to school, to mom’s various job sites, long rides home, listening to classical music and jazzy artists like Sade. This Teen Daze mix brought me back in a warm, fuzzy way. Teen Daze · Easy Listening - Episode 17 (Sade Rarities Special) (03.19.25)

pretty good representation of the mask off era here
