Today's article on my Substack (samlarner.substack.com) is about the Premiership stars who are on the rise. Who will get more game time next season and breakthrough? open.substack.com/pub/samlarne...

This isn't a classic final. But the Bulls are starting to gain a foothold but it's such a hard won one. Still 15pts down. Leinster are making it so hard to get points. Just endlessly challenging.

Leinster more or less home now you feel. Bulls haven't got into this game at all and are losing in every element. They need something to act as a catalyst.

Bulls are being bullied here physically. Leinster a cut above and 14pts ahead in damp conditions.

The average kicker would've put the kick to touch which led to the Tiger's first try just on the 22m mark. The chances of scoring a try from there would be 17.6% Instead Pollard stuck it about on the 8m mark. The chances of scoring a try from there are 37.9% Oval Insights with the data

Is the Lion's Tour the end of this season or the start of next season?

Hey Everyone! I've made the leap over to Substack. I'll still be on here, hopefully more, and writing threads but I'll be posting longer form articles here, doing some Whiteboard rugby vids, and recruitment ideas. I'd love it if you'd give me a subscribe at samlarner.substack.com

Recorded a new episode of Challenging the Game podcast with @samlstandsup.bsky.social Out on Monday!

Thread: Kicked to Touch I watched a game in Dax and I wondered just how noteworthy Romuald Seguy's kick to touch was. Which sparked further investigation.... Using @Oval_Insights for data. 1)

It's wet wet wet in Pau for their Derby with Bordeaux. Freezing cold as well. Plus, I'm standing in the uncovered bit. This might be about to be uncomfortable.

Dax strangling this game now. Better in the scrum and way way up on the pen count.

Rain now coming down in sheets. Aurillac trail 15-20 at the end of the first half. A few misfiring lineouts hurting them as they looked to build a platform.

Cracking game out in France between Dax and Aurillac so far.

Want to know who leads the way by Try Equivalents this year? Unsurprisingly, but quite surprisingly, there are four Bristol players in the top 12. But Max Llewellyn leads the way with teammate Tomos Williams in 6th place. Stats by @Oval_Insights 1)

Really good game in Manchester. Somewhat goes to show the issues this season. Saints will have the bigger highlight reel but Sale have just been consistently more competent and powerful...and lead by 7pts.

Ben Thomas complaining to a teammate mid being smacked in the tackle is summing this game up

This is a bit of a horror show from Wales. Playing too much rugby but not very good at kicking. Italy getting an armchair ride just waiting for the mistakes and playing off them. This might be worse than last week.

Brilliant

What trends should we expect in the 2025 Six Nations? You might be surprised that kicking is decreasing as is mauling. But what else will we see in these next five weeks? I've written a handy article explaining just that! www.rugbypass.com/plus/what-tr...
