Got my vacation reading lined up.

I've never been so ready for a vacation.

My latest piece for @puddingviz.bsky.social: 30 minutes with a stranger

What a hodgepodge of bullshit.

I’m in the Chelsea(ish)/Hells Kitchen(ish) area of NYC for the next couple hours. If any former client, current friend, or potential new friend wants to meet up for a drink somewhere in this general area, send me a direct message in the next 30 minutes or so and we’ll figure it out!

I saw the musical Titanique last night with absolutely zero preparation. I knew it was about the titanic and that’s it. 10/10 would see again.

The only thing worse than hustle porn LinkedIn is thirsty LinkedIn. My word.

Respect to all those in U.S.-centric disrespected timezones regularly taking calls at horrible times. Started my day with a 6 AM call for a European/Asian-centric team and I can already tell I'm going to be reeling all day.

Managers and umps yelling at each other in baseball will never not make me laugh.

I didn't think I had an enemy but somebody (accidentally?) used my number to request an auto insurance quote and my phone hasn't stopped blowing up in days.

The end of Rogue One hits so much harder after two seasons of Andor. And it already hit pretty hard. Goddamn.

I have an extremely important personal project to focus on this summer.

Well just go ahead and say the hot fried chicken sandwich I had for lunch prior to a 2.5 hour bike ride and 20 minute off-the-bike run was “gut training” and not a “bad decision.”

About halfway through this and finding it one of the most engrossing and original things I’ve read in a while.

I recently moved to a new apartment in the same building. Everything is familiar except the temp control of the faucet in the kitchen is the *reverse* of what it was in the last apartment. Apparently my brain is incapable of learning this new information. The brain grooves are deep on this one.

This Thursday is still wide open.

First American pope is neat except for the fact that Trump is going to try to take credit somehow.

"eggs"

I'm in SF next week with a couple open windows of time. Trying to fill my dance card with interesting conversations, coffee, and food. I can do coffee and food on my own, but I need your help for the "interesting convos" part.

Winnipeg fans, how you doing?

What feels whack to me about AI "writing" is that writing used to be the best way to understand what someone actually thinks, knows, and believes. It was the best way we had, other than face to face conversation, to look inside the heart and brain of another person. Now? All bets are off.

Probably should've known this was going to become inevitable.

Friday afternoon, cranking through some admin tasks and emails with the windows open, baseball game on the iPad. There are worse ways to make a living.

Good org design creates affordances. Is it obvious how to "use" the elements of your org? How to show up and participate in meetings? How to use resources like dashboards? How to use a specific workflow? It's amazing how slippery orgs can be -- and then we wonder why it's so hard to get traction.

April Fool's Day loses its luster when the other 364 days in the year feel like a joke.

Debrincat has maybe become my favorite Wing.

You’re allowed to eat the entire pizza if you made it yourself. Thems the rules.

@fionatribe.bsky.social just finished this today and I think it may be very much your jam: www.ndbooks.com/book/on-the-...

The hope drains out of one season while another is filled with nothing but.
