Morning all. Cooler day here, very welcome. My back still aches from yesterday’s gardening so it’s a gentle day, or that’s the plan. Opened up the greenhouse & spotted this bee snoozing in one of the cucumber blooms. Checked it’s ok, so crept back out. Have a super day everyone 😊 🌱

Happy #solstice2025 Out in the garden since 6am, trying to get some tasks done before it got too hot. Seems to be a good year for soft fruits, plenty of raspberries & redcurrants. Forecast rain later which would cool things down & be welcomed by the plants. Have a super day everyone 🌱

Morning all. It’s very warm again so Ted is keeping cool in the kitchen. My friend’s elderly dog collapsed yesterday on their evening walk. Due to the heat & thankfully she has recovered. Prompted me to put a bowl of water outside my gate for passing dogs. Keep safe everyone 😊

The mini jungle in my greenhouse. Cucumbers, tomatoes, aubergines& salad bits. I keep some nasturtiums in too as it encourages the pollinators to pop in for a visit.

Here’s a close up of my new buddy, who I’m calling Geoff. Think my male ID is correct as the head peak is U shaped. Females have a more V shape. Anyway he’s very tame & doesn’t seem to dislike his name. Currently he is scoffing the aphids. 🌱

At last the decorating is finished. In the pics the wall looks red but is actually a deep burnt orange. Blinds, lights, wine fridge & shelves to be installed & some last finishing touches. On the home stretch. Ted is not impressed, furious that he can’t sleep under the table now
