Back at one of @edsolomon.bsky.social's Writer Zooms, I heard Charlie Kaufman say he was genuinely scared of the state of the industry and that he had to crowdfund his last movie. And if I were to choose to be defeated by that, I'd have to first ignore the fact this job is for crazy people.

Just received a contract for our soon-to-be Sketch Comedy show. Met producers when I judged their film at SOFF then flew out to meet them & we hit it off. Soon we'll create our own show called "JUST THE BIT" (with help from Audrey). The lesson here is "When the market is rough, do your own stuff."

Before it died, Twitter asked if they could turn my tweet into a poster in NYC's Union Square. For my efforts, they sent me some cool swag and a plaque that still hangs on my wall. This photo now serves as a memorial to a simpler time (and a reminder of how quickly honesty can turn into irony).
