So, I thought I'd give you a quick life update. - My depression, which I've been suffering from for a while, is so bad at the moment that I can't even code anymore - I'm losing my new job at the end of the month because my new employer is going bust But I won't let it get me down ...

I got my hands dirty today working with data, literally. My old homelab shredded a hard disk and when I dismantled it, the terrabytes of dust were already trickling towards me ...

I'm home alone with my dogs because my wife is in the hospital (nothing serious) and both of them are bored. Somehow I'm not fun enough for them, so they are sleeping the day away till their true owner returns ...

I'm thinking about buying a mechanical keyboard. But I'm not quite sure whether I'll be able to work with it. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience? It should have LED backlight, be full size and the QWERTZ layout.

Every time I watch @danielroe.dev programming I feel dumb. Which is good, it means I've just learned something new. Never stop learning, never stop improving.

Why can Firefox use "color-mix"-Colors in keyframes but chrome not? It's blinking like hell but not transitioning. codepen.io/Sauriel/pen/...

Creation Freedom Patience

I just finally added README and LICENSE files to a whole bunch of my GitHub repositories. I have to admit that ChatGPT was a big help. Still, I'll have to revise them again over time. Next, I will finally upload all old projects that are not yet in version control to GitHub.

As promised, I have now built sauriel.net with #svelte, #astro and #nuxt and summarized my experiences: sauriel.net/blog/en/blog... Thanks to @thealexlichter.com for the idea. Hopefully everything works now. If you find any problems, please let me know

And just like that, my site is now powered by @nuxt.com ! Next step: turn what I’ve learned into a blog post and build a Nuxt module that lets me publish my @obsidian.md notes straight from the vault. Let’s see where this adventure takes me!

So, my site has officially made the switch from Svelte to Astro (with a sprinkle of Svelte magic). The real question now: do I start adding the new features, or do I scrap it all and rebuild it in Nuxt for the fun of it? Decisions, decisions...

I’m stuck in a three-way dilemma. My personal website is in SvelteKit right now, which I love. I could rebuild it in Nuxt, which I also love. Or maybe Astro, because it has this awesome integration with Obsidian. Now I’m just sitting here, stuck on the character creation screen of web frameworks...

"A company isn’t like a family—it’s more like a village. Everyone has their role to play, and only by working together can it truly thrive." - It's true I guess, but sometime it's hard to find the right village for you to be happy in.

I spent half the day battling Svelte errors and warnings. Looking back, I should’ve just played some Skyrim and let this (svelte.dev/blog/advent-...) arrive to save the day.

Yay! I just changed my handle to match my domain—and it was way easier than I expected! 🎉

I absolutely love Advent of Svelte! Every time I click the link, I swear I hear the Zelda treasure chest sound in my head—and my excitement levels hit max. It’s pure magic!

Maybe it’s time to trade Skyrim for Morrowind. Back when I first got it, I was absolutely mesmerized by the water reflections—like, stop-everything-and-just-stare mesmerized. And yet, I barely played more than an hour. But hey, maybe it’s time to finally see if Morrowind has sweetrolls, too.

I’m currently embarking on the grand quest to switch from Windows to Linux, starting with the delicate art of taming my WSL. A sprinkle of zsh here, a dash of exa there—and suddenly, I’m feeling like a level 1 adventurer who accidentally wandered into a high-level dungeon.

I have a confession to make: I’m playing Skyrim. Again. Because why tackle my ever-growing backlog when there’s Tamriel to explore and yet another sweetroll to steal? Priorities, right?

Hi, fellow Skyfolk! I’ve been lurking in this cozy corner of the internet for a week now, so I figured it’s about time I stopped pretending to be mysterious and said hello. 1/7

I just completed "Historian Hysteria" - Day 1 - Advent of Code 2024 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2024/day/1
