2002-05 I worked at a gas station in high school and people came in to buy maps and/or ask for directions allllll the time. As a teen without a license and a horrible sense of direction I was known to occasionally send people down the street to ask at the next gas station 🤷🏻‍♀️

@spikeeskin.bsky.social FYI - there's a definition in the dictionary (at least 3 major dictionaries, so it's not a one-off) for "read" that means "to hear and understand". I think it refers to radio ("do you read me?") but it always disproves people's narrow definition for "read". Language evolves!
