The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency. The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?

not beating the allegations

“No Kings” demonstration, Ocean Beach, San Francisco

Look at downtown LA right now

Boy, Pam Bondi is real fucking quiet about political assassinations after being real quick to make statements about burning Teslas.

Philly showin' up today

When Stephen Miller gave the orders to ICE to conceal identity, Miller helped get these elected officials shot. He’s complicit in these attacks. Impeach, remove, prosecute, imprison.

This chart @pbump.com crated for his @washingtonpost.com newsletter today really illustrates the responsibility—the guilt—of Rupert Murdoch and bad-faith alternative-facts Fox News for getting and keeping us in our current mess. More impact than any single U.S. news media enterprise has ever had.

The most incredible part of the grift is coming to power when there is no chaos by campaigning on a platform of "I'm going to end the chaos," then overseeing an era of chaos he created and saying "See? We're ending the chaos."

Jesus. The juxtaposition of these two posts back to back is just...

interesting that the anti-vax crowd were given every kind of opt-out from vaccines for themselves and their kids but they'd just as easily take the option away from anyone who wants to receive a vaccine

The Senate bill aims to effectively end all civil rights lawsuits against the federal government except by entities rich enough to potentially pay million/billions in fees. I am not making this up.

we used to have a nuclear agreement with iran until trump tore it up. art of the deal.

IRAN IS PREPARING TO LAUNCH 100 BALLISTIC MISSILES TOWARDS ISRAEL

TRUMP TO WSJ: SPOKE WITH ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU ON THURSDAY AND PLANS TO SPEAK WITH HIM AGAIN FRIDAY TRUMP TO WSJ: ATTACK WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE MARKET BECAUSE IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON

In 2018, Donald Trump, then in his first term as US president, let Iran out of nuclear restrictions in exchange for nothing. Many people, very much including me, warned that he put things on a path with only two possible outcomes: large-scale war, or a nuclear-armed Iran. And here we are.

gonna be a weird shabbat

BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.

My favourite one like this is Don Henley getting Brian to autograph a copy of Pet Sounds. Brian signed it "thanks for all the great music" then thought for a second, crossed out "great", and wrote "good"

bobby boy point to higher rates of cancer and heart disease as evidence that people were healthier decades ago. despite the fact people live 30+ yrs longer on avg now than the 40s, communicable diseases (which vaccines fight) caused more deaths. we live long enough now to see our bodies to go awry.

it really speaks to how trump does not see himself as a steward of the white house or the presidency but as its owner. he will do with it as he pleases.

What Trump did at Ft. Bragg today was a propaganda exercise and I would be real hesitant to extrapolate anything from it, lest you fall prey to the propaganda yourself.

democrats need to get it together for the midterms if not solely for the fact that it would allow congress to investigate this hairless weasel. republicans would throw him under the bus in a minute (and not for the reasons you'd hope)

file this under D for reasons i don't use twitter.

After 75 days of attempted obstruction, the Senate voted to enact the Civil Rights Act #OTD in 1964. Roger Mudd's coverage of the process, Donald Ritchie reminds us, shows that by "hammering facts into the public mind until they can’t be ignored," media can push lawmakers to act: loom.ly/nCifeac

smells like waste, fraud, and abuse to me

NEW: Leland Lehrman is the new executive director of the MAHA Institute, a policy organization with ties to RFK. In the mid-2000s, Lehrman promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories and argued repeatedly that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion is legitimate: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Media please mind your language. There is a difference between protests and riots. If you need clarity on the difference every news outlet can simply play this tonight. WATCH to the end. (from the official footage shown by the Jan. 6 Committee)

Russia has kept up a steady barrage of Ukrainian cities, intensifying by the night, in recent months despite pressure from the Trump administration to work toward a cease-fire. A record number of drones and missiles have been launched, according to Ukrainian officials.

Wow when I saw this post, it was so wild, I had to look up the raw trade data for myself. Sure enough, U.S. wine exports to Canada have fallen off a cliff:

President Lyndon B. Johnson federalized the National Guard in 1965, calling on troops to protect civil rights advocates who were marching from Selma, Ala., to Montgomery.

they can't even find enough sleeping space or bathroom facilities for the first 2000...

Martial law without a legal declaration. Just grab Marines and do what you want with them. This is why Trump appointed Hegseth.

like serious, there isn't a single states rights guy who has 6 gadsden flags flying from the back of his truck who has anything to say right now?

Plus this part does not inspire confidence: “The rules of engagement here, we are told, are still being finalized. And defense department lawyers are also looking at the kinds of rules of engagement these Marines will have as they encounter protesters, possibly on the streets of Los Angeles.”

not the onion

complicated man but hell of a musician. his songs blew some minds but the idea of an "integrated band" even more so. highly recommend listening to andrew hickey's incredible series that did a 2 part episode on "everyday people" and the man's life and career

more of this please
