We justify the elimination of invasive species for conservation efforts, but what if aliens or something more powerful than us, decided to do the same to humans? Conservation is still for economically profitable. I think that means it’s not morally correct. Maybe preservation would be better?

Hello friends! What’s everyone been up to? I’ve been busy studying soil science so I haven’t been on much. I also got a new job working on a boat! Here are a couple photos of my recent visit to the east side of Oahu. It’s such a beautiful place! I hope you all are doing well!

Incredible day at sea with one ono lunch! I’m on a brand new journey to spread knowledge about Hawaiian culture + ocean literacy! Stay tuned! #hawaii #oceanlife #boatlife #oceanadvocate

I recently requested this ocean literacy handbook from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) by email. They sent it to me right away! I’m excited to dive in and learn more to become an ocean literate advocate! Thank you NOAA! #oceanliteracy #NOAA #oceanadvocate #oceanconservation

Happy New Year from Waikiki! I just went on a whale watching tour and it was so magical!

Human to human transmission hasn’t occurred yet, but if more and more people get infected with bird flu, the more likely human to human transmission will occur. The virus has entered and mutated in a Louisiana man. Stay safe everyone!

I went kayaking for the first time! It was so much fun. If anyone has any suggestions on more places to kayak on Oahu, let me know!

I’m looking for scientists to interview for a book I’m working on. If you’re a scientist, please hit me up and we can arrange a chat. If you’re not a scientist, please share this far and wide. ❤️

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the rapid advancement of A.I. and the risks it poses. Superintelligence could become uncontrollable, A.I. labs face security threats, and the race to be first might push safety aside. Are we truly prepared for the societal and impact this technology could have?

Reading increases empathy.

Now this is my kind of humor. Plus I love anything to do with Shrek 😂

Finished some homework and now doing some reading. Big thanks to Michal for suggesting a great book and sending me the first few chapters of it. Here’s a photo of where I spend much of my days becoming the best I can be! (When I’m not out at the beach or mountains 😉)

I’ve been feeling so uninspired lately. Maybe it’s this darn statistics class. Oh well, 3 more weeks to go. Here is a beautiful plant I saw on my walk the other day. 🌼

My view earlier this evening at sunset beach at the north shore #Oahu 🌅 Goodnight friends 🤗
