Massive props to @hankgreen.bsky.social here. We (cough, cough, you know who) are undoing the slow, unsexy scientific progress that has kept more Americans from dying. Very much applies to better weather forecasting, so 8000 people don't die in hurricanes anymore (like Galveston in 1900).
