When your home airport is a "quiet airport"--no announcements beyond those just at the boarding gate--all other airports sound like they are screaming at you...

If you need to get things done, use my tried-and-true method: get on a coast-to-coast flight. Nothing like being on a plane for five+ hours to focus the energy. Back in the day, I managed to write large portion of my doctoral dissertation on planes. Still works to this day.

There are two types of people who pack for a vacation in Italy. One who started packing two weeks ago. One who will pack maybe the day before you leave (but only if it is a morning flight). And they will marry each other.

What color shoes are these?

California flying.

Tell me you are a #girldad traveling for work without telling me.

Definition of consultant life, the next four days are: SFO-LAX-SFO-LAX-SFO. The first and last are a RT. The middle is a RT. I am not a pilot.

As a person who flies a little too often, don’t think I haven’t thought about ordering DoorDash to the plane… www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news...

Trying to figure out why my blood pressure cuff won’t charge is increasing my blood pressure.

Who among us hasn’t tried to add an image to a word doc only to have it create fake citations www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

Tell me you are in charge of the snacks and s’more for the kids annual parent+daughter camping trip, without telling me.

With this being the 2-3 months of the year with the vast majority of student visa applications are processed and students interviewed headed to the September and October fall starts.

“Dad, remember, we are not going back to our villa, we are going to the pool” 🤦‍♂️ #girldad And by villa she means our room at the hotel.

Well ahead of schedule for the July Higher Ed Marketing book club with @kibilds.bsky.social & @ashleybudd.com meeting.

To long weekends in Santa Barbara.

Well after the latest news about Harvard and international students, I full endorse this: www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/b...

Well at least I was efficient in my 4.5 hours of sleep last night.

This is a higher education policy problem that I did not know exists until now. Holy crow.

When you let the kid start looking at walkie talkie options for her 2nd grade camping trip…

The kid requested walkie talkies for for the her classes annual camping trip, so of course that sent me down the rabbit hole of walkie talkie research. The pair I’m looking at is more expensive and overkill for a 2nd grade camping trip, but they charge with usb c. Sold.

When you see it in real life.

Tell me you fly to much without telling me you fly too much. Your kid wants photos and to bring back the lounge jelly beans that likes getting.

O’Canada! 🍁 🇨🇦

You are a #SanFrancisco kid when you play call out the Waymo cars while you are headed to dinner in a Waymo?

A joke a heard recently that hit hard. You have truly achieved it in life when: 1. Married 2. Own a home 3. Group 1 boarding Maybe I travel too much.

Fun historical note, Trump University was never accredited. Most would also agree that those at institutions and those at accreditors have many ideas to increase effectiveness and efficiency for accreditation that would result in better education for students. This will not do this.

Sunsets that never get old.

A programming note: I will be on NPR's 1A show tomorrow (Monday) morning at 10 ET/9 CT to talk about higher ed in the current environment. There is a lot to discuss! the1a.org

Catching up on BlueSky about what people were yelling about a little while ago at the pool bar…

Night arrivals.

Really dislike nearly all that he stands for, but if I could have this internet connection speed on all flights (let alone ones over the middle of the pacific)

Well now that The Pitt has left me an emotional wreck… I think I need something less fraught for this next five hours of a flight. #thePitt

The thing about using fear as power is that history eventually puts all who are in power out of power. And those without power will have power. overcast.fm/+AAoIe9O0L9Y
