Two hours of pointless administrative work and now I'm too depressed to eat lunch.

Imagine thinking the reason to read Victorian literature is to Learn The Plot.

I have now suffered through four minutes of two fake people using overly-chatty voices to steal my writing. Leave aside the theft that's happening here. I don't understand why anyone would subject themselves to that, rather than just skimming for the stuff they need.

Slurping nutrient slurry out of a plastic bag has freed me to focus on the one thing only humans can do: long for my own death.

The most powerful people in the world saw the third act of WALL-E and thought, "I could make a lot of money selling soda."

It's not an anomaly when they all explode.

Absolutely the foundational text of my adult political consciousness.

Morning walk. Clear water.

Always nice to go back to an old paper I published years ago and realize it's terrible.

The long nineteenth century is exhausting. I'm ready for it to be over.

A weird time to be a Canadian is when a large segment of Anglophone political discourse assumes that a constitutional monarchy is a conceptual impossibility.

Arthur Pap is so HOPOS-coded.

Yes. Some people don't understand that "Bsky is dull" really just means "I don't know how to find interesting people to follow."

A towering figure. Everyone knows PET SOUNDS is incredible. But I'm here to say SMILEY SMILE is one of the weirdest (laudatory) albums ever recorded.

I'm not going to do a 1000 posts about politics in my small Canadian city. But here's one, as a treat to myself: All of the mayor's confusing actions and statements make perfect sense on the assumption that, only 10 months into being mayor, he's already mostly just running for Premier.

I apologize to Becky Kent.
