Revisiting one of my favorite albums of the 80s, Family Fodder’s MONKEY BANANA KITCHEN. FF tend to get lumped in as post-punk also-rans but I think they are really carrying a torch lit by The United States of America and Faust (w/ a dash of King Tubby). Psychedelic, experimental, funny.

My fave albums of 2025 so far are Rose City Band's SOL Y SOMBRA and Justin Walter's BIRD HIGHER THAN CLOUD. Also very into Thanya Iyer's TIDE/TIED and the Natural Info Society/Bitchin Bajas collab album. Stereolab's return is welcome. That's it. Aside from those the year has been a bust for me.

It’s true, THUNDERBOLTS does feel like a return to form for MCU films. There are still many others better than this, but it’s the first time in years that an MCU film felt enjoyable pretty much the whole way through. *except for Sebastian Stan’s hair.
