🖤 Why We’re Not Marching Black people aren’t silent because we don’t care about No Kings Day or immigration injustice. We’re silent because we know what happens when we speak out. History has shown us: protest too boldly and you risk harm, arrest, or even death. This isn’t apathy, it's survival.

Trying to stay positive in all this chaos!

America was “greater” 2016BT (Before Trump).

How did we get here #4: Single issue voting. Running a country is very complex with many moving parts. Where one issue may be critically important to a section of the electorate, the country at large could be negatively affected. lAddressing the needs of all is inclusive of the need of a few.

How did we get here #3: Voting for a candidate for any reason other than qualifications, competence, integrity, and record. A catchy slogan? Good but not enough. Campaign promises? Encouraging, but mostly lip service.

How did we get here #2: Deciding that voting is optional and not an absolute necessity in keeping Democracy intact. Leaving a door open, even if only slightly, allows room for the dismantling of norms to enter and become a “thing.”

How did we get here #1: Believing that the only election that matters is the every 4 years election of a president without considering the impact of local, state, and Congressional elections.

No other country on this vast planet would grant an outside immigrant access to destroy vital agencies and services with no oversight! Musk has not produced one credible receipt of fraud, abuse, or waste and no one in power is demanding that he do so!

The entire world watched a black man struggle to breathe and beg for his life as a white police officer sits on his neck for 9 minutes 29 seconds until he breathes no more. Yet, right wingers want the incarcerated felon pardoned. We witnessed a man die, take his last remaining breath, in real time🥺

Feeling like black America is being dragged back to Jim Crow’s doorstep by our hair and with skinned up knees and elbows.

A convicted felon will address a chamber full of lawmakers tomorrow🤔🤦‍♀️

Things I'd rather do than watch Trump's address to the joint session of Congress: -Eat a live tarantula -Perform one of Simone Biles' signature gymnastic moves and break every bone in my body. -Leap from a diving board into a waterless swimming pool -Remove my toenail polish with a chainsaw

Listen up you absolute fucking legends of stupidity, you glorious, star-spangled dipshits, you majestically brain-dead champions of mediocrity, you beige wallpaper of humanity… measles outbreaks do not HAPPEN ALL THE TIME in our country. Stop acting like this shit is normal. It’s not.

It is absolutely appalling that injustices happening in other countries that used to make me shake my head in disgust and disbelief are now sitting on America’s front doorstep, lined up neatly to waltz right in one by one to destroy the entire structure.

I saw a post saying that ICE is pausing its tip line, so I decided to call myself to verify. The recorded voicemail said they are not currently accepting immigration status tips. Good job, friends.

QAnon Kash signed copies of his children’s book with the QAnon slogan written on top. meidasnews.com/news/kash-pa...

Really love this cartoon from the great Michael De Adder. The outpouring of support coming in has been truly amazing! Thanks everybody!

A Black woman named Aliyah was struggling to find work. So, she catfished herself and made a fake profile on LinkedIn named "Emily." Emily had the same qualifications as Aliyah but received 57.9% of interview invites while Aliyah received 8.9% This is what we mean when we say racism is systemic.

Mike Turner says that when Speaker Johnson ousted him as chair of the intel committee, he told him that "an element included concerns from Mar-a-Lago." (Johnson has denied this, so somebody is lying...) Turner adds that he's "concerned" about the new direction of the committee.

Chicago Public Schools prevented officers from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement from going into an elementary school on Chicago’s Southwest Side Friday and talking to students, according to school officials.

Oath Keepers' Rhodes and 7 other Jan. 6 defendants barred from entering DC and Capitol building without court approval.

Yes, some of this is unique to linear. But it's a mistake not to see the decline of print and linear media as connected to an overall dissatisfaction with legacy media as a whole and --- importantly -- legacy media's largely indifferent response to the criticisms it received from its consumers.
