So we’re signed up for AUKUS with a country that openly defies/denies international law. That could take our defence forces to some even darker places.

But not Australia. A truly shameful moment. The Albanese govt is an integrity vacuum.

6 February 2025: LNP policy: Frame ethnic cleansing as a peaceful and practical solution. ALP policy: Don't criticise ethnic cleansing Enjoy live.australiainstitute.org.au

So, is literally anyone in the Albanese government going to say anything at all about what’s going on in the US? Trump has just announced he wants to ethnically cleanse Gaza, Musk has the codes to the US Treasury, they’ve deleted US AID … meanwhile Albo, Marles and Penny are still mumbling ‘AUKUS’

They've given up pretending. My SMH/The Age cartoon.

Trans people don't need the uninformed opinion of their local MP, they need informed healthcare & the same rights, protections & services as everyone else. Trans people deserve freedom from hatred, judgement & bigotry.

Trump is explicitly proposing to carry out a policy of genocide and it is incumbent on all nations to say no to that. Australia has no other legal or moral choice.

Australia is not like America. We won't tolerate the oligarchy of billionaires running our government, paying no tax and laughing all the way to the bank. Dutton mimics all of Trumps policies including to sack public servants and give the work to consultants at 3 times the cost.

A spine chilling moment from Donald Trump to Michaelia Cash promising strong-man leadership from Dutton. Trump's tariff announcements mean trouble for the global economy and it's the workers and consumers in every country who will pay with job losses and higher prices.

Cancel AUKUS. It compromises our sovereignty. The subs are not going to arrive. There’s no waste solution. It sucks millions from the things we actually need - and can be delivered: essential health, dental, well funded public schools, early childhood education and care.

With Trump now assuming charge of the US, it's time for Australia to have a sober reassessment of our part in AUKUS. It's gravely concerning that for so long, successive Australian governments have contracted out so much of Australia’s defence & foreign policy to the US.
