There's no point in fining Thames Water. They won't stop polluting the rivers and seas nor will they start adequately investing in infrastructure. The only way to fix these problems is to nationalise the company.

The only Brexit "benefit" that actually existed was that everyone hated us. This is good news for Brexiteers as it's also the one thing that no amount of sensible and necessary deals between the UK and the EU can ever take away from them. Hopefully, the rest of us are now a bit less hated.

I just saw Stephen King's "racist" joke which is clearly not racist but unfortunately has made a lot of otherwise creditable people who don't understand the joke really angry. I think probably a good example of why never to make jokes on social media.

I just saw Midsommar for the first time and the plot can be summarised as "a group of students that haven't seen The Wicker Man - or indeed any horror film - walk straight into a real life The Wicker Man and get Wicker Manned. Hard." I mean, I enjoyed it, but it's The Wicker Man.
