Terribly slow to realise this but: I suspect the reason many European countries went for 'No Tyrants' rather than 'No Kings' is because we're so used to 'king' meaning 'ineffectual decoration'. 'President' already seems a much more likely title for a tyrant?

Something I've been wrestling with in a work context; people readily recognise unskilled work in fields they're skilled in, but won't acknowledge the reverse - so, engineers easily spotting an un-manufacturable CAD model, while using ChatGPT to produce text that doesn't say what they mean.
