I love this because I was always told as a kid Haitian Kreyol was broken French. They also teach in French in Haitian schools and do govt business in French

I did as well. I also gave them my thoughts on the truly rancid exploitation of human narrators, among other things. Join in! It’s therapeutic, I swear!

A plague a’ both houses!

The legendary west African kingdom of Kaabu has long been memorialized in the songs and stories of griots. That's inspired archaeologists to excavate the kingdom's capital.

Check these out instead.

This show is excellent. It has a largely indigenous creative/writing team, too.

The idea that enslaved people were ‘developing skills’ is totally insane. Their skills were being violently exploited. White people couldn’t even grow rice on American soil. Africans had those techniques. It’s all brutality, fabrication and whitewashing with these people.

Hi LA County friends, just got a heads up through the wires and don't have a place to write it up so I'll put it here instead - the city of Rosemead is providing free N95s and KN95s to the public which can be picked up at the Rosemead Chamber of Commerce on Muscatel Ave between 12-4pm today...

I couldn't sleep last night, so I thought I'd write. Couldn't write so I thought Id draft. Couldn't draft so I thought I'd plan. Turns out that I couldn't write because I hadn't yet realized that my romantasy has a whole lore that I didn't understand yet, and this isn't a book... it's a series.😬

In Iceland, on Christmas Eve, people give each other books so they can spend the evening drinking cocoa & reading. It’s called, Jolabokaflod, the Christmas book flood. I’ve never been more in love with Iceland than I am right now ♥️♥️

Did anybody else watch Cross. It was great, and I love me some Aldis Hodge and his fine ass, but can we take about the Old Spice guy turning into all this and stealing the damn show?!?!?
