over the last ~20 years the applied theorist corps in econ has been hollowed out. now ~everyone is doing causal inference. good thing big policy changes with general equilibrium effects rarely happen and academic econ can stay "policy relevant"

Question for Quarto pros: I render to PDF using Latex. Metadata from the graph pdfs generated says that my Mac produces graph PDFs using pdfTex. On my coauthor Windows machine, it produces the PDFs using R. They are different in size in the final output. Any ideas on how to consolidate this?
