Got bored, grabbed my camera and headed out with no plan. Came home with this.

How we built Oslo Street Photo Festival from scratch: www.sivertalmvik.no/blog/how-we-...

Thought it had snowed in Oslo during the night. No, it is just Norwegians enjoying the sun in parks 🤷

Said hello to a cat today

This weekend we had our second Oslo Street Photo Festival. As one of the organisers, I had no time to take pictures. Still, I managed to grab these four shots inbetween the talks. Nothing special compositonally, but four good memories for me in photographic form that I will appreciate for years!

Looks like Fujifilm's marketing department has been very busy

A few video shots from a walk yesterday

Random videos from my lunch hour walk. Privileges of working from home.

They didn’t want the peas I bought for them. The ducks I kept when I was younger, loved peas. Spoiled wild mallards. #Ducks

Going after the press. Where have we seen this before? apnews.com/article/trum...

I mostly consume #photography content on YouTube, but sometimes the algorithm takes on a journey. While having my morning coffee, I watched this video from start to finish with great interest: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDuW...

Tried bike videography yesterday. Frankly, it is a stupid thing. #videography #stupidthingstodo

«Dagens lokale»-spalta i nyhetsbrevet fra @filternyheter.no var spot on

«Babushkas of Chornobyl» is a documentary project by Trond Lindholm. He’s been in Ukraine and the exclusion zone around Chornobyl many times. He knocks on doors to talk to the strong women defiantly living there. Full interview: youtu.be/A4cUQgsb274 #DocumentaryPhotography #DocumentaryFilm

«They also note that the winning photographer has publicly supported Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, calling it an act of “liberation. “Elevating such a voice on a global platform, in a contest meant to uphold truth and integrity, is incomprehensible,” the Georgian photographers add.»

Trond Lindholm jokes about how he had a midlife crisis when turned 50, and went down the street photography route. Now he's doing what he calls «people photography»: youtu.be/A4cUQgsb274

On the 13th of August 2007, I pulled this film out of one of my cameras. Then I wrote the number of pictures taken so I could easily use it again. Looks like I didn’t. Perhaps I need to buy a film camera and shoot the rest of the film before developing it.

I have no idea… I just threw together a few clips from a quick walk I had today

Our small festival, OSPF -Oslo Street Photo Festival, is coming along nicely. Samuel Lintaro is speaking. Get your tickets here: ospf.no

Apparently it is «weird» to buy a pen, not getting a shit pen for free somewhere

Worth to read: many news organizations and institutions are not migrating to Bluesky not because they don't want to, or to retain their followers, but because of one technical, existential problem.

Now, this is cool: @teryoshi.bsky.social is coming to Oslo this weekend: www.osloartguide.no/steder/fotog...

The Press Photographers' Club will award the Photo of the Year this coming Friday. There will be an exhibition on Saturday, March 15 here in Oslo at Sukkerbiten. Here are the nominees: www.journalisten.no/notice/633708 (Norwegian) #Photography #DocumentaryPhotography #PhotoJournalism

All cameras are exactly the same. What matters is how they make you feel - www.sivertalmvik.no/b/99 #Photography #Blog

I noticed I got some traffic from this site. It is a random blog generator that serves you varius blogs each time: indieblog.page I've now read about why The Gulf of Mexico should be named «Gulf of Fragile Masculinity», and a personal review of the TV-series Expanse. I love the random nature of it!

Kudos!

New video in my Photographers of Oslo-Series! This time with my good friend Andreas Feydt, a street photographer with an obsession for travelling: youtu.be/TjQUoqEX8Sw #Photography #StreetPhotography #Documentary

This is the closest I get to shooting like Henri Cartier-Bresson. Rome, 2013. Shot on a Fuji X100 (the first one) #StreetPhotography #Photography

In 2023 I attended the Oktoberfest for the first time, and I went not as a typical tourist but as a street photographer. The vibe was awesome, and I got to photograph this weird tradition: Drunk people clinging on to a spinning disk on the floor. #StreetPhotography #Photography #Oktoberfest

I've been shooting with my 23 f/2 (35 mm equivalent) for years and years now. Decided to mix things up. Dug out my 35 f/2 (50 mm eq). #Photography

I'm getting extremely tired of consuming photography through social media. I've started to seek out «old fashioned» photography web sites, but not on my mobile but a desktop or a large laptop. Here's a good photography magazine to view on a large screen: www.zekemagazine.com #Photography
