New: We interviewed six detained Venezuelans who the Trump admin accused of being gang members and likely nearly sent to El Salvador this month without due process. They—and their relatives—insist they are innocent and provided extensive evidence to support that. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

@nytimes.com's The Daily episode re: Student Loan Pol. -- at one point Barbaro sets up a question juxtaposing Trump and Biden priorities as potentially just different ways to "fix" a broken system. Trump shows open contempt for the thing the loan is for; maybe doesn't deserve benefit of the doubt.

Me getting ready for next few weeks of black/white smoke jokes mixed with Stanley Tucci memes.

We could have a conversation about sensitive info that isn’t discussed publicly, but not classified in any enduring way and quickly becomes public. Maybe adding that would help the over-classification problems in the US. 🤷‍♀️ Wouldn’t start with war plans. Wouldn’t happen on Signal.

Autism is not a disease. Autism is not an epidemic. Autism is a multifactorial genetic-based neurological condition. And it’s not caused by vaccines or nebulous “environmental toxins.” A thread 👇🏻 1/

It’s important to find a useful way to tell Trump voters that there were people in their lives who tried to warn, tried to help, tried to inform. This can’t be for gloating. For the reachable, it has to stay focused on reminding people of who was really in their corner. We need to figure this out.

I’m a programmer. We’re known to swear at our computer screen incessantly. I never swear more than listening to a modern confirmation hearing. Fuck.

Keep in mind that Trump doesn’t just have one puppeteer, he has many. People who flatter him, talking heads, leaders who act arbitrarily in ways that make him jealous, people who bribe him, and the last person who had his ear. But by all means, keep the puppet imagery flowing. Fight with tools.

just totted up all the substacks I pay for and found myself thinking ‘wow wouldn’t it be better if all these writers were in one place and I could just pay a flat fee’ so anyway that’s how today I invented the concept of the ‘newspaper’

@bhima-jenkins.bsky.social I finally have content I would love for you to watch as closely and critically as I’ve modeled w/ the things you’ve shared with me. In this video, Hank covers 90% of what I’d want to talk about. Of the topics, all but 1 tiny thing, I endorse. youtu.be/-NI6lxgHaN8?...

Must watch for anyone interested in #dronesNJ youtu.be/-NI6lxgHaN8?... Thanks @hankgreen.bsky.social, you said so many things I’ve been trying to say, better than I could, louder than I ever could, and with the compassion and humanity I aspire to. So, f*** you, I guess? I’m jealous.

Watching a YouTube clip about the drones and it had the subtitle "WHODRONEIT" and my brain is like "Yeah, that 100% says "whore done it""

Folks very enthralled by the drone panic read testimony after testimony—sounds like a common theme AND some folks have wild exps. Without a skeptical toolkit this can trip us up real good. Feels like multiple independent attention makes the wild claims plausible. Not so. Almost the opposite.

A skeptical exercise that I do on the regular is a self-check when I embellish a story. NJ drones be a signal I should do it more There’s the reality, the experience, and the embellishments. Embellishments often apply to the experience. The experience is often already an exaggeration of reality.
