what are you supposed to do when the "good" political party doesn't treat a dozen credible sexual harassment claims as disqualifying for a political candidate. how are you supposed to ignore that

happy father's day to me 🥰

As I always say: nowhere you want to be more than Chicago in November! See you all there!

I think Kagan actually just voted with them because she agrees with them on the outcome of those cases

This (about the climate insurance crisis). It's like a "2+2=4" level of "just numbers," too. Can't buy a house without a mortgage. Can't get a mortgage without insurance. 40 million houses overvalued (as much as 40%) because they're underinsured and/or uninsurable. It's gonna be ugly.

btw this is already happening, it's happening basically everywhere in America, it's going to lead to another housing-triggered financial collapse, and multiple states and the US Congress are basically trying to make it illegal to talk about it.

that is simply not how this works at all

In principle I would feel a lot better about leaving things to the democratic process if the Court hadn't expressly given states the go-ahead to degrade the democratic process to the point of farce

I'm having way too much fun with this

anyone have textbook recs for a *two-credit* fed courts class?

Excited to share a draft of my most recent work, “The Moral Complacency of Federal Indian law” (forthcoming in the Minnesota Law Review): papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

It's so funny. You can sic the Manhattan Institute on this and even they can't make the actual case. Headline: NYC defunded the police Paragraph 20: "slight" decline in the *percentage* of overall city budget that goes to police (in the context of a massive raw $ increase in city budget)

The US has spent $1 trillion on disaster recovery and other climate-related needs over the 12 months ending May 1 -- Bloomberg Intelligence That’s 3% of GDP that people could have spent on goods and services “a stealth tariff on consumer spending”... www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

It was the news actually

Checked in on Twitter, immediately shown a thread that said that Puerto Rico would already be a state if it weren't for the left's anticolonialism(?), checked out of twitter

A top staffer to Sen. Tina Smith emailed Sen. Mike Lee’s top staffers on Monday about “how much additional pain you’ve caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend” Full emails below

Will have to see what happens, but Dems are playing with fire if they think they can continue to sabotage left candidates who win Democratic primaries. That's not the deal.

Solum on Pragmatics and Textualism, buff.ly/jXs4l9U - Lawrence B. Solum (University of Virginia School of Law) has posted Pragmatics and Textualism (33 Journal of Law and Policy 2-111 (2025)) on SSRN.

I was reliably and repeatedly informed that this kind of exercise of executive discretion in enforcing immigration laws was flagrantly unlawful
