Spreadsheets are my love language and I think white supremacy is stupid. West coast girl living in New England. Recovering teacher. My dog is the best dog. I’ll end up in a Trump camp at some point. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Opinions are mine.

honestly hilarious

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal" is not an option in the USA. It's not immigrants failing the test of being an American, it's people like Charlie Kirk and Matt Walsh.

Federal agencies—for many reasons—shouldn't be slinging memes. There are very few exceptions. But for these assholes to post this, in this particular context*, is revolting.

So the Marines are protecting the National Guard who are protecting the ICE agents who are protecting their kidnappings from public scrutiny

Right now, Dems are hiding in their offices, scrolling their phones fearfully, wondering "how are voters going to feel about the National Guard being deployed?" The right, meanwhile, is vigorously *attempting to shape* how voters feel about it, filling every medium with coordinated propaganda.

More than this, no one should get in trouble for articulating personal motivations that the subject has already articulated. That is not opinion; that is fact! Even if it reflects badly on the subject.

I don't want Newsom to run and I think he's a douchebag but he should declare for 2828 (so should Pritzker) for precisely the reason Trump did. To make any LE activity a campaign stunt.

Pepperball projectiles. Percussion grenades. Tear gas, CS gas. Pepper spray. Foam baton rounds. LBD-40s. Marker rounds. I’m guilty of the “less lethals” language as a kneejerk catch-all for these items in the moment, but Luke is right. Time to get specific and stay specific.

A burning Waymo should be very funny on a bipartisan basis

what people seem to believe is that there is a large number of criminal, layabout immigrants who can be easily found and deported. they support doing so snd are dismayed by the deportation of otherwise law abiding people. the problem is that the criminal group is imaginary!

Law enforcement is violently targeting press at protests around Los Angeles, from easily recognizable "mainstream" outlets to freelancers and independents. ALL press have explicit legal protections in California. #JournalismIsNotACrime. This evidence thread may get graphic. 🧵👇

This is the way to stand up to these bullies! Respect ✊

Let's not pretend Trump actually wants to help Los Angeles. Trump is deploying the military on American soil to stoke MORE conflict and MORE violence. Every Republican that remains silent is enabling him to trample over the constitutional rights of the American people.

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes

The people of LA would really like to go about their day. Buy groceries, get their laundry done, spend time with family. Live their lives in peace. Kind of like all our immigrant friends and neighbors. It’s the feds and ICE that are making this impossible. They are creating the crisis.

A personalist regime. Not a nation of laws acting under the powers granted in the Constitution.

Y’all. Just an FYI. I haven’t been online or following the protests much today. I just want you to know that my very liberal, very pro-immigrant Mom is watching “CBS News 24/7” and is SIDING WITH THE COPS. I’m not watching it, but I can only guess the mainstream media spin is INSANE.

Be careful, friends, when you read accounts of what is happening in LA. We will hear a lot about violence, and it is essential to remember who is defining that term. "When state actors refer to peace, they are really taking about order..." (@prisonculture.bsky.social and @mskellymhayes.bsky.social)

Alright, at this point I’m pretty sure about this: The federal government legally cannot take over the national guard and tell it to do stuff without involving this man in some way, and he should explain whether that has happened or not. Stop telling protestors to do and tell us what you’re doing.
