Still LA, ICE is gathered again to start another operation after tear gassing civilians for hours at Paramount. A massive ICE presence stands across the street from civilians. This is live right now.

My husband turned on game 7 of the 2003 ALCS and refused to turn it off so I’m currently in the market for a divorce lawyer!

Yes, you did vote to deport moms.

Contempt can be found against a parent in a custody case for withholding a child for *one visit.* It is truly incredulous and mind boggling that contempt has not been filed or found in these cases.

Went to walk the dog and realized my transformation into my Buffalonian dad is complete.

When people break the law, and their actions are righteous and appropriate, we should applaud them. When people abide by or enforce the law, and their actions are repugnant, we should condemn them. We should never pretend the law is a moral dividing line.

Noting an "epidemic of citing fake cases," an exasperated judge says a lawyer had "subjective bad faith" when she used generative AI to prepare a legal filing with hallucinated citations & filed it without doublechecking its accuracy 🤖😵 storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Would actually HATE to be a hockey ref bc it’s exactly like being an 8th grade teacher - you’re tasked with measuring certain objectives but all you do is break up fights

If I see the Martin short/steve Martin Wells Fargo bookstore commercial one more time I will need to check into Bellevue I stg

BREAKING — All FDIC employees just received an email confirming DOGE presence at the agency. "The DOGE team has neither requested nor been granted access to sensitive bank information." We'll see how long that remains true. Text of email shared with me:

This government is not legitimate.

“What did they expect?” is kind of a misleading question. The people who supported them didn’t expect something very specific. They expected to own the libs. They expected people they resented to suffer. The expected the world to burn. It wasn’t about specifics.

HAPPENING OVERNIGHT: At 1:41 AM, DOJ filed stay motion in Abrego Garcia deportation case at 4th Cir. Calls judge's order 'indefensible,' downplays erroneous deportation, says US can't force El Salvador to return him storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... Earlier: www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

That’s the Pam Bondi-led United States Department of Justice that Judge Jackson is talking about.

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

They're trying to deport my colleague from the med school and holding her without counsel. She was coming back from a visit to her family. If there are ways to help I'll let you know. www.providencejournal.com/story/news/l...

Would be cool if @schumer.senate.gov was actually allowing people to leave voicemails right now 🙃

I would support this! We need to primary the dinosaurs.

I have to say: Chuck Schumer is a weak man and a fool. This was the one cudgel Dems had. Now it's up to the courts which we new from the beginning were at best going to slow some things down. There's 18 hours left to somehow bring additional pressure to bear. It will be really hard to do that.

This is an embarrassment for Yale. It’s a grime time and things are going to keep getting grimmer if universities jump at shadows from fear of Trumpism. If you teach at Yale I sure hope ChatGPT doesn’t say you kidnapped the Lindbergh baby or something. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/12/u...

As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law: “It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate. www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2025...

If we can "avoid a government shutdown" by voting for this CR, then why is the entire Department of Education closed today? Why is USAID closed? Why are hundreds of billions in grant contracts frozen? We are already in the shutdown. And your votes DON'T stop it. In fact, they allow it to expand.

Moving a detainee around to evade judicial review is classic authoritarian behavior.

Let me just tell you that in the books about American politics it has always been considered an absurdity that Congress would vote to strip itself of its constitutional power. That’s how checks & balances are supposed to work. Everybody is supposed to jealously guard their enumerated powers. But no.

"tree equity" is the kind of thing that columnists like to make fun of when why it works is actually instantly apparent to anyone who's ever walked down a street in the summer apnews.com/article/tree...

Rahm Emanuel covered up the murder of a Black teen, and shuttered public clinics and schools. Cuomo covered up COVID nursing home deaths and harassed women. These men heard "now is the time of monsters" and decided to attempt a comeback. They both belong in hell.

A pair of Musk's DOGE bros are literally dictating who gets foreign aid -- including life-sustaining medical treatment -- in apparent defiance of what the Secretary of State has said should be U.S. policy Via @mattbaidc.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

My ADA accommodation of 1 day WFH was denied and instead they offered me leave time when my symptoms flare up. Do… do they not understand that this will result in LESS work being done?

Boop

this is an act of unspeakable violence. it benefits no one, it doesn’t move a number on a balance sheet. it only guarantees that every one of these incarcerated transgender people will be tortured.

most of the return-to-office mandates come from a similar place: managers who need to justify their own existence. because let's be real — if you can't rely on adults to work well from home, you did a shitty job of hiring.
