I've uncovered an absolutely bizarre story about a local road and... are any of you versed in property law and fraud? If so do please DM...

Yes, yours

In a week's time it will be two months since the local elections. Any Councillor who has failed to sign their Declaration will lose their seat, and by-elections will be held. Astonishingly, Kent County Council are *still* unable or unwilling to say if any of their members are affected.

Just getting dressed for my Dan Hannan party and mmmf mmm pppffff

That was quick.

We like a proper, traditional #DanHannanDay, so after a big lunch we’re all going for a pretend walk in the country.

“She’s dead”

If you believe Reform's claim that KCC spends about 7% of its revenue budget on working from home, I have a beautiful bridge you may be interested in purchasing.

Reform UK is proposing a "Britannia card" that would let wealthy foreigners pay a £250k fee to move to the UK, and live here exempt from all tax on their foreign assets What they don't say: it would cost the UK £34bn Report here, and thread below: buff.ly/gpe2Dpf

I used to run with a pretty tough gang when I was younger The gang:

Next season of Line of Duty has an unexpected twist.

Really interesting discussion about HMOs on BBC Breakfast just now, in which both sides of the argument were heard equally and thoughtfully questioned. Oh who am I kidding, we just heard from a landlord as usual.

Can we do it? Get to 50,000 by 0815 on Sunday I mean? Let’s do it! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...

Turns out the first person to lose his job to AI was Winston Smith.

Lack of enforcement is dangerous. Once people think ‘why should I pay if others get away without doing so’ you’re on a slippery slope. Same with fare-dodging, shoplifting, ignoring building regs. Others ‘getting away with stuff’ also makes people angry. Fuels the broken Britain narrative.

Well it’s a bit tight - we still need 66 more signatures by 8:45am on Saturday..surely we can do that?! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...

I thought that talking to God on the big white telephone was a euphemism.

You should definitely read this week's @kentcurrent.news , and not just because I'm in it.

This just isn't right. Most of the tax gap isn't "dodged by the richest 1%" - as @danneidle.bsky.social reports, about £2bn of it is from the wealthy (and another £2bn from other individuals). By far the highest amount - £28bn - is uncollected from small businesses. taxpolicy.org.uk/2025/06/19/t...

Less of a dog whistle, more a dog trombone.

Lol. Lmao. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Still no response to this. It really shouldn't take this long for a Council to tell whether its members really are its members, so I have complained to the ICO.

SHARE IF YOU ARE DISGUSTED AS ME!

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71... Come on folks, the #parkypetition is in danger of falling behind the run rate - we need c650 signatures a day if we’re to hit our 100k target by September 10 and today we’ve only done about 500. Let’s have a big push to get above 46,000 tonight

Really don't think the Tories have thought this through....

Honestly I still can’t stop laughing 😂😅🤣

"Here, you know who else loved a big parade?"

Don't let the Tories and the Reform Party Ltd claim credit for the announcement of an inquiry into grooming gangs. It's the recommendation by Louise Casey who carried out a review at the behest of Yvette Cooper. It's nothing to do with the Tories or Reform.

Apropos of nothing.
