Omg the ferry cart

Once again, I think that people who make choices about public transportation options should be forced to use said public transportation options. In all seasons, for all tasks.

One more of Thunder Bun Bun: Crusher of Evil, Smasher of Problems.

I'm actually drawing again. Horrible, self indulgent comics. Everything is so bad about them. And yet - I can feel glee.

nature is for EVERYONE! 🏳️‍🌈

At the sharp-tailed grouse lek, the guys do the dancing, but the females do the choosing and you can just tell they are looking carefully at the options 🧐 #birds 🌿

In this moment of anxiety, please enjoy a baby goose falling out of an adult gooses wing. Yes I wrote that sentence. Yes this happened. Yes it's ADORABLE. No I don't think I'll capture a cuter goose moment this year. 🐣 🪶

Ah yes, wheezing if I dare get up and go to the kitchen. I sure love a lack of accessible medical care and air that... Extra bonus, the apartment is in the 30+C range.

New Crow Time update [1/3]

Ye gods this paragraph goes hard. <3 I've long advocated for free education at all levels, but never heard the case for it put quite so forcefully.

Guess what

Found a baby songbird? Here's a newly updated chart!

The one place in this city that made glasses that were okay was closed, and now I have no idea where to go to get my simple prescription utterly fucked up repeatedly and told to learn how to wear glasses properly.

Oh hey????? BY SALT, BY SEA, BY LIGHT OF STARS is a 'notable' story on @johnjosephadams.com 's for Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2025! (Thank!) It is also up for a Hugo and a Locus Award! www.johnjosephadams.com/projects/bes...

I really hate no backpack signs on grocery stores.

I bought a new sketchbook a year ago. A nice one. I meant for it to just be a place for some project notes, and I have a project I love and is basically just for me. I still feel like I'm going to ruin the sketchbook by drawing in it.

I was having an emotion, and I hate that.

Today, someone leaned out of the passenger side of a white minivan and slapped my ass while I was trying to bike home.

My Birds Canada Birdathon #AlphabetOfBirds continues! *D* is for ducks, obv. *D* is also for dabblers and divers. Behaviour is a big clue in bird ID. Watch for "butts-up" dabblers like gadwall & mallard and "blooping" divers like bufflehead & goldeneye #birds 🌿 www.canadahelps.org/me/6n3u2yyj

Everyone please say hello to Goostave, who lives on the roof and came to my guest lecture on landscape genetics today

Good morning! 🪶

Well, this is one of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. At least I can always cut more off.

We have nothing to fear from the truth about ourselves or what happened to us. Even the rough stuff. Even the stuff we've been conditioned to feel shame about. If we're afraid of the truth, it's only ever because Trauma Brain has tricked us into thinking we "should" be afraid.

Drawing the cool dragon I found in the bush today

I ... did actually draw something that pleases me.

You are not "stupid" for missing red flags in people or organizations. Lots of factors beyond our awareness or control complicate how sensitive we're capable of being to many red flags-- & certain red flags are not at all evident except in hindsight. Grace over guilt.

It's starting to enrage me thinking about all of the creativity and evolution we're missing out on because of musty ass racism and discrimination

Becky Burke speaks. Everyone should read this, but everyone working in comics should especially read this.

Conservatives confident attacking female journalist will distract from Poilievre’s comments about women’s “biological clocks”

It's hard to wrap your head around having dreams or aspirations of your own, when growing up your only goal was to be "good enough" for people in your life who seemed barely interested in you ("interested" in any kind of positive sense, anyway). You are not alone.

The most resilient people on earth walk around feeling like the most fragile people on earth, because our culture refuses to let go of the assumption that if someone is struggling they must just be doing life "wrong" on some level. Wounded is not "doing life wrong."
