As well as the chance to maybe do that college/university course you always wanted to do, work on that creative project, help out a local charity, ad infinitum. Without (in the case of the UK) the Jobcentre giving you a good shoeing if you try.

St Katherines, a nice little church that used to be in Colley Gate, but long since demolished. (These were taken in the 90s.) It's strange that there's so little information and - aside from one tiny black and white photo - no other pictures of the place online anywhere and stuff.
