Me: Hey, I made my first dovetail joint today. It was a disaster! Dad: Did you get your jig dialed in? What router bit did you use? Me: Oh, I did it with hand tools. Dad: Oh, fuck.

My 60-year-old aunt, a woman who has moderate social anxiety and has been intensely indifferent to politics her whole life, was out protesting this weekend for the first time in her life. The backlash to this administration is coming.

We Asked Ten Guys We Found Jerking Off Outside Of Gas Stations What They Thought Of Trump's First 100 Days

You have to wonder who, exactly, he thinks he's fooling.

The time is now.

This, right here.

At this juncture I’d like to point out: * we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing * there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world * a united approach could stop the climate crisis But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

this is really ripe for an excellent farce.

America is, in a twisted way, blessed that its version of fascism has barely anyone (at least, anyone willing to work in govt) capable of passing any real-life equivalent to the marshmallow test. Hegseth can't. Elon can't. Bondi can't. Noem can't. Homan can't. Trump can't. And thus they'll lose.

I don’t want this to be true and I don’t say stuff like this because it makes me sound like a scold but I do think there is a lot of truth here and reading both Plato and Milton it has been on my mind: lack of self control seems like freedom but it’s actually enslaving yourself to your worst parts.

Notable this is happening based entirely on stock market moves. Tariff price hikes, everyone knowing at least one person laid off because of the recession, business slowing everywhere, a collapse in even domestic tourism — that’s all in the *future*

Do all modern country songs sound like third-rate Skynyrd knockoffs? Is that where we are now?

lots of people have lots of theories for why this is happening, but, honestly, i think most of it is just cowardice. american elites are, as a class, people who've largely never had to fight for anything in their lives, and they are even more afraid of throwing a punch than taking one.

man, it's just absolutely bizarre to see so many institutions tucking tail and running from trump, even as he's underwater *on every single issue, including immigration* in less than 100 days. total elite failure.

T: How's your writing going? Three steps forward, two steps back? F: More like three steps forward, take a left, do a little moonwalk, step to the side, take two steps back, walk widdershins around the glade at midnight, write five thousand words, delete four thousand, repeat. T: So, normal, then?

mind you this is all before things start getting really bad we are still in the “wow this is gonna suck” stage, economically, we haven’t hit “wow this fucking sucks” yet whatever you think Trump’s popularity floor is, it’s gonna be tested once we hit a deep recession that is 100% his fault

conspiracy brain is fascinating because osama bin laden was like hello i am osama bin laden, you know me from such things as masterminding 9/11, a thing i did and loved, i’d fucking do it again and people like ron johnson say hm tough to say what happened here

‘Pete Hegseth? I thought you might be worried...about the security...of your shit.’

so they're mycoblogging

I had to screenshot this conversation of @marisakabas.bsky.social for posterity due to its surrealness

announcing my candidacy for school board.
