most annoying part of the whole AI thing is: the standard is “build a person”. unless you build a person, you have not achieved AI. none of what’s been done is AI.

Mikel Arteta would do well to take a look at that PSG midfield and learn. Dominance comes in many forms and having a one dimensional, physicality based understanding of what that means will get you, well, the US Men’s National Team. physically imposing players that cannot break lines or read play.

my thing is: once you’re a public figure, you’re a concept. any exposure to you as spectacle means that person will have to make an active effort to engage with you as a person. “my sex life is mine and the concept you’re playing with is also mine to play with” should be the default position.

secondary element to this: a nuclear family places way too much responsibility on parents. the standard is already out of reach. kids need like 5-10 adults involved in their lives who are invested in helping kids generally. 2 people can’t give their kid enough even if money is no object.

not for nothing but look at Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ numbers over the last 2 seasons and you will see why I think we should’ve kept him. at the time we were so bad we needed another CB in the back line for extra cover. we failed him and got rid just before the role evolved to suit his skillset.

Jurrien Timber is the first quality right back at Arsenal since Bacary Sagna. Ainsley Maitland-Niles would be better in that role than Ben White if he had to compete for the role as it is now. today he would be in rotation/an occasional starter as a more vertical/wing-y Timber alternative.

Make-A-Wish appointments are so gross on their own the idea of decency doesn’t play into it. if you acknowledge their power and ability to create change then you have to take the next step and evaluate them in that context on that basis. you don’t get to smol bean someone in power. that’s pathetic.

there’s a really insidious escapism quality to these appeals for anti abortion sentiment. it’s encouraging people to harm themselves more with their own misery and what-ifs. it’s like online incel communities that - rather than helping each other forward - encourage downward spirals into despair.
