At the risk of repeating myself...

So I finally played Death Stranding, thinking it would be a good walking sim kinda thing (I like those). But oh boy. 1 hour in and I've been bombarded by about 5 different plots, a landslide of backstory and a dozen cut scenes. Does it ever ... improve?

Hear me out: KinkedIn. Anyone? Angel investors...? Anyone? It's a unicorn waiting to happen. A latex unicorn...

After encountering this fella I was fully expecting superpowers to emerge - acid-shooting, maybe, or the ability to stop people banging on about AI - but alas, no. I remain sadly me.

Help! There was a game / art project a while ago, multiplayer, set on an island full of life. The life slowly vanished over 30 days and those who came in later heard about the amazing earlier world, but never saw it. After 30 days, it was all gone, forever. Ring any bells...? (No, not Terra Nil).

'AI democratises art'. Art was always democratised. Anybody can buy cheap tools and spend time learning to draw. What you actually mean is that you want the results without any effort.

The level of AI arselicking on LinkedIn is frankly vile. A technology designed to destroy people's livelihoods, rip off creatives and fill the world with soulless slop. Fuck those people.

The armoured cabbages and shielded beets are coming along.

I stumbled across this youtube video about fantasy post-Tolkien and how everything that followed was destroyed by (wait for it) capitalism. Really great! Plenty stuff I had never heard before. And a new youtuber for my list! youtu.be/_BBrDhgGz1k

The ones who paddle away from Omelas on inflatable flamingos. (shsdavisapes.pbworks.com/f/Omelas.pdf)

Heartening to see that AI has not yet dethroned the Chinese toy factory translation team.

People are saying the problem with Bluesky is a lack of interaction. Well, by God, armed with a bottle of wine, I intend to fix that, single-handedly, tonight.

People! I need a game. Short. Impactful. Atmospheric. Things I like include FAR: Lone Sails; Dredge; What Became of Edith Finch; ABZU. You get the idea. Any suggestions?

Not a great time to leave an odd container with a retractable top strangely parked on a Stockholm street, is all I'm saying... #spiderwebs

Ouch.

We don't want to see "your" AI "art". So stop please.

Swedish edible-slop producers find new ways to mess with me.

In my teens - I will be famous! In my 20s - I will be rich! In my 30s - I will be happy. In my 40s - I will get a good night's sleep. In my 50s - I will grow a carrot.

I'd also pretend to be Sam Altman's friend for 6.4 billion dollars.

When your game about horror and demons in Victorian London finds its target player (from the @allvissthlm.bsky.social booth at @nordicgame.com). #crowSkulls

Fair play to the Vatican for stepping up to the plate (in their own way) and appointing an American pope who's critical of Trumpism. This should be interesting...

For people who love ceremony and pomp as much as the Catholics do, that sure is one crappy looking chimney.

Where I live in Stockholm is absurdly pretty. This is fifteen minutes jog from my flat. You can swim there in the summer. It's a thing I will always remain awed and grateful for.

Ask yourself if your company would fire you if they could reliably replace you with an AI. We all know the answer to that. So I find it hard to get excited about this particular "revolution".

I am so tired of hearing people go on about AI. SO sick of it. And it's always the most boring of people who go about it the most. And when they say it's a way to be "more efficient" what they mean is it saves money for companies. That's what it's for. It's vile. A fucking stampede into mediocrity.

Got the kale in the ground. Also the spuds. Spuds are in the back bed. That's not all the spuds. There are many spuds.

For the record, I'm WAY more scared of tech bros than I'll ever be of AI since only one of those is actively striving to take everything of value in the world and set fire to the rest of it.
