Yesterday, this piece was awarded the Jeffrey Hewitt Memorial Prize for a social commentary poem. I wrote it in Tuscany on my honeymoon the day after the election. We were at Tierra della Sidhe, a beautiful little chestnut and olive grove/guesthouse tucked into the folds of Monte Amiata.

Amy Sherman-Paladino is revisiting balet with Étoile and I am here for it. Bunheads was underrated and arguably mismarketed. It was far less niche than the promotions would imply. It was a human story, and ASP is damn good at telling those.
