Goodbye Gmail, welcome proton.me/de/mail! I decided to leave Gmail and move to Proton Mail. They offer an easy migration that moves all your mail automatically. #goeurope

Tilt in the imaging train is the final enemy of astrophotographers. This is how I try to fight it: skellner.github.io/projects/IMX... 🔭 #astrophotography #tilt #imx455

🔭The Elephant's trunk nebula again, sorry. But it's the only emission nebula I can shoot from my backyard this time of year. I combined a grayscale representation of the Halpha spectrum with RGB stars. #backyardastronomy #berlin #astronomy #astrophotography #elephantstrunk #IC1396

Idk why this nebula is called "Elephant's Trunk Nebula", I neither see an 🐘 elephant nor a trunk. Can somebody explain this to me? 🔭 Taken from my backyard in #Berlin, #Germany during four nights in April 2025. #backyardastronomy #astrophotography #elephantstrunk #ic1396

How I determined the back focus of my Esprit 120ED with the 0.77 flattener: skellner.github.io/projects/Bac... #astrophotography #backfocus #esprit120ed

Chrysocarabus at Bayrischer Wald, Germany.

🔭An interesting detail about the Needle Galaxy #NGC4567: the top side goes a little up, the bottom side a little down. Like a propeller. Taken from my backyard in #Berlin / #Germany. #astrophotography #backyardastronomy #astronomy #astrofotografie

🔭The Coma Cluster is a large cluster of about 1000 galaxies. Zoom in to browse through the cluster and find lots of tiny galaxies of all shapes. Each of the galaxies consists of millions of stars... I took this from my backyard in #Berlin, #Germany. #backyardastronomy #astrophotography #comacluster

🔭There's a Monkey Head in the night sky: #NGC2174, about 6400 light years away. I took this from my backyard in Berlin and removed the stars, so the nebula pops out more. The image was taken by only recording light emitted by Ha, OIII and SII particles, aka "narrowband imaging". 🔭

‪Wind turbines got a lot of hate from the fossil guys lately, but this pinwheel can't be bothered at all: #M101 the Pinwheel Galaxy. It's 21.1 million light years away from humanity. 🔭 Taken from #berlin #germany #astrophotography #astronomy #backyardastronomy #pinwheel #galaxy

Some people claim that Globular Star Clusters all look alike. I think this is true. But they are all beautiful! This one is #M3. If you look a little closer, you see thousands of stars together in a very large blob. And the colors! #backyardastronomy #astrophotography #astronomy #berlin #germany 🔭

Who says you can't image galaxies with smaller refractors? Ok, it's a bit small, but you can enjoy the landscape. Meet #M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy taken in Berlin. #backyardastronomy #astrophotography #astronomy #berlin #bortle7 #lightpollutedskies #pinwheelgalaxy 🔭

The moon can be a massive pain if you want to make photos of deep sky objects. It can glow over large parts of the sky. The solution? Shoot the moon! 🔭 #astrophotography #backyardastronomy #berlin #germany #edgehd8 #svbonysv705c #sharpcap

Another Galaxy-Shot: M106 and Neighbours. Guess how many galaxies are visible in this image... Zoom in to get an idea. Taken in #Berlin / #Germany #astrophotography #astronomy #backyardastronomy 🔭

Bode's Galaxy #M81, the Cigar Galaxy #M82 and the Garland Galaxy #NGC3077, taken from Berlin. They are 12 million light years away while the western world is only a couple of years away from giving up democracy. Don't let this happen. 🔭 #astrophotography #backyardastronomy #astronomy #galaxy
