my mother wanted a full size washing machine in the kitchen of our new york apartment. no dryer, there was no room. there was also no hookup and it was never used. seemed like just another day to me as a kid but WTF now.

there is a butternut seedling in back. the former owner killed the only old tree by letting virginia creeper take over. but the butternut produces a plant poison that could eventually kill off the garden. kill the young tree or let the others die?

now that they have repaved the street and all of the driveway aprons, i will be curious to see how the heavy rain pools. flooding makes me anxious. they went flush with cobbled edges on everyone's property - may be bad. may be fine. i am one of the only gravel driveways left and will stay that way.
