Labour is claiming that taking children and pensioners out of deep poverty will create economic collapse in the UK. That is total and utter drivel of the highest order. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/05...

UK govts made the rich richer. Billionaire wealth is 10 times larger than in 1990, built on speculation, inheritance, exploitation & regressive taxation. 16m Britons live in poverty. Real average wage unchanged since 2008. Can't rebuild economy without redistribution. Increase taxes on the rich.

Netanyahu is determined. He won’t stop unless he is actively stopped. It’s not about selling a few less weapons, pleading, expressing outrage & maybe ending a trade negotiation we never should’ve been in. It’s about aggressive sanctions now, expelling the ambassador & our military delivering aid.

"The people I feel estranged from in our society are not my diverse friends, family or neighbours, but the people filled with hate, and the cynical politicians feeding that hate. They are the ones causing division." My @insidecroydon.bsky.social column insidecroydon.com/2025/05/15/s...

It's mainly luck.

There it is…

I sometimes watch Bloomberg news while eating lunch, and the level of rationalising of the total insanity from Trump and his cabinet is astounding. The presenters must be wearing blinkers. They ask no hard questions. They seem to have no awareness of how people in other countries see the US now.

The best way to honour the generation of 1945 would be to rebuild the NHS and the welfare state they voted overwhelmingly to bring about

Proof this guy is full of SITH.

Hey British media, It’s no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, he’ll start winning. Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS… instead of drumrolling him into No.10

Keir Starmer’s government should hang its head in shame for pursuing this appeal. The Governments defeat in the Court of Appeal today should send him a powerful message that parliamentary democracy exists to make sure a government can’t just do whatever it wants. That must be respected

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

Of course I’d rather Labour had won the by-election and losing by six votes is astonishing. But I hope Starmer takes the message that Reform are better at being Reform than Labour, and Labour’s best bet is to go back to being Labour.
