Doing some gardening to pass the time this spring. More flowers than veggies, but we finally have a fence this time so I'm hoping my mini roses will actually grow without the deer nibbling them to death.

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil.

Today the Supreme Court cleared the way for the federal government to transfer thousands of acres of national forestland including a Native American sacred site, to Resolution Copper a mining company owned by Rio Tinto and BHP. The land holds deep spiritual significance for the Western Apache tribe.

This isn’t about ensuring history is “based on facts.” It’s about making sure history aligns with this administration’s narrative. The Trump administration has ordered every national park to post signs encouraging visitors to report anything
