I haven't been able to follow the classified Signal chat debacle without thinking of Airplane.

This was not a "one off" incident. It was in the Heritage Foundation's training videos on how to evade the FOIA and any accountability of their actions. The first question Congress should ask on ANY matter should be if they had used Signal or any "disappearing" communications network.

"We’re deeply concerned the government is targeting disabled people and their carers, instead of taxing US billionaires and tech barons." @libdemdaisy.bsky.social

100% this!

"Airline Demand Between Canada & United States Collapses, Down 70%+".

This image will go down in infamy: Kristi Noem using abused El Salvadoran prisoners—some of whom she illegally deported in the dark of night, without due process—as props in a Trump ad in which she sports a $60,000 Rolex These men have already been left in a hole to die—was that not enough for her?

Tuned in to #BBC #Today for the first time in a while and rather enjoyed listening to the presenters quite rightly ripping into government policies and ministers. It's just a shame they didn't show the same rabid enthusiasm with the last Tory administration...

Diane Abbott is correct that living on benefits isn’t a ‘lifestyle choice’. Good to hear at least one Labour MP confronting the Starmer gang’s ongoing attacks on the poor. #r4today

Voice of America is shut down. It played a key role in promoting goodwill for the U.S. worldwide and was translated into almost all major languages around the world. Now, I guess people abroad will be forced to swallow the lies and hate of Fox News.

Trump has effectively shut down the Voice of America because it broadcast some things he didn't like. Meanwhile, Fox News carries on as normal...

"Four in 10 Gen Z workers consider quitting to live on benefits" crow the Daily Torygraph and the Daily Wail. However, far from living a leisurely life at the taxpayer's expense, as they would like you to believe, this says far more about the poor wages on offer in the UK today.

Can someone with a military background explain why this isn’t an act of war? The victim is a “US-flagged” vessel “at anchor in the North Sea and carrying huge amounts of jet fuel for the US military.” The deliberate attack’s aggressor is a Russian captain.

I'll tell you who knew: every Jeremy Corbyn supporter who warned you that Starmer was just going to continue with the Tory shit-mill we've been wrung through for years, you 'centrist' fuckwits. www.dumptheguardian.com/commentisfre...

🔴‘I Asked Nigel Farage’s Supporters What They Really Want and the Answers Were Alarming’ My time spent mingling with Reform supporters online revealed a lot about where the UK could be heading next, argues David Goff bylinetimes.com/2025/02/20/r...

I’m not going to the Joint Address. I will be live posting and chatting with you all here instead. Then going on IG Live after.

Let this sink in.

This.

Dad died 40yrs ago, at 61, Mum 48yrs ago, at 53. What would I tell my young self? Ask your parents about everything - family, old photos…and on and on… At 71, I still see/hear/find things & think “Wish I’d asked them about that”, because there’s no one left who knows.

Tufton Street reporting for duty…

Today is the first day of Lent. So, for the next 30 days I am giving up Brussels sprouts...

Truth hurts MAGA 😂

Catherine and her cat from Zaporizhzhia. She spent 5 hours under the rubble of her house, destroyed by a Russian missile. All this time she has been hugging her cat. P.S. Sorry she didn't wear a suit.

In addition to being wrong, this is against our own self-interest. If Russia is not stopped in Ukraine, they will simply continue to advance. Increasingly, that seems to be the point: Trump/Musk/Vance are aligned with Putin's interests & not ours.

That’s right. 🇺🇦

Rail fares go up. Again. On the promise of future investment. Again. Water charges go up. A lot. Again. On the promise of future investment. Again. Electricity prices go up. Again. On the promise of future investment. Again. Company profits go up. Again. Nothing changes. Again.

The projected cost of HS2 is £80bn. For a similar investment, instead of shaving 35 minutes off the journey between London and Birmingham, it is estimated the UK could develop fusion, promising limitless clean energy. Just a thought. @addyspectreai.bsky.social @rachey.bsky.social

Elon Musk says Italians should stay in Italy and the Japanese in Japan. Then why the hell is this White European South African in North America?

Repost if you agree.

Chris Murphy: "It appears as if America is trying to align itself with dictators, that Donald Trump wants us to have our closest relationships with despots all around the world, because that makes it easier for him to transition American into a kleptocratic oligarchy."

The orange manbaby didn't get his deal. Toys out of the pram. The USA is officially a rogue state. Just like Russia. It's time for the grownups to take charge.

Long day driving. If my experiences are anything to go by, "Rent an Idiot" has run of product...

Oh dear oh dear....

This is big. Far-right troll site Guido Fawkes has always claimed it isn't subject to UK libel law as it's officially offshore. Today it conceded that it defamed Dale Vince, making clear it it's subject to UK law. No more dodging scrutiny. Staines will have to play by the rules like the rest of us.

Baroness Mone's Covid enquiry testimony to be held in camera. A few cross words over Grenfell, but no criminal prosecutions. Anybody seeing a pattern here? The untouchables untouched... as usual. 🤬

Apparently, the UK government expects people to rip out all their gas and oil boilers by 2040 and replace them with heat pumps. So when is the Labour government going to make it MANDATORY for all the developers building the new 1.5 MILLION homes to fit heat pumps?

Spot the telling addition to Mar-el-Lago

No, but if you’re looking for one, I am aware of a guy you work with that was indicted four times and convicted of thirty-four felonies.

20 years later, they’re still hunting, so we’re still sabbing. The 18th of February marked the 20th anniversary of the hunting act coming into force, and even after all this time hunts up and down the country are still continuing as if it never happened.
