Just over one hour left to get your comment in! Do it now, friends - tell Trump's FDA to let us get our COVID vaccines!

Mine is done. Too long to post the whole thing here, but I finished with: "There is no logical reason to restrict the availability of this vaccine. If we are to rely on personal choice and responsibility to protect our health, then we must be given that choice."

Did some crunches for the first time in a while. I guess my breathing was concerning.

Fascism is really exhausting.

Just a heads-up: When you a) have a political prisoner whom you've detained in violation of their right to free speech and b) have to be *forced* to let them hold their one-month-old baby, you're the bad guys.

Phone calls take just a few minutes. Sometimes it’s just leaving a voicemail. This budget bill is going to do so much harm to so many - on multiple fronts. Call your senators. Tell them how you feel. Tell them to vote no, to gum up the works, to do whatever is necessary to knock this down.

The GOP murder-bill that just passed in the house is a disaster for many and a direct assault on trans people. Don't feel helpless, take action. Such as this great thread 👇

The fascist win if you lose your compassion for other people. That's part of the war. You have to keep compassion.

There are 100 terrible things in this bill. Focus like a laser on one or two of those things and start educating everyone you know on those one or two things. If each of us does that, then we'll be able to inform A LOT OF PEOPLE.

I despise legislative fights but I've unfortunately had to be part of many of them at the state level over the years. And what I can tell you is that NOTHING happens to stop bad bills unless PUBLIC PRESSURE IS RAMPED UP TO 1000%. That pressure can only build if the public is INFORMED.

There it is, they're trying to de-transition everyone on Medicaid. I wish I was surprised. I'm certainly appalled and deeply worried for all the trans people who rely on Medicaid.

All, be aware.

If you're going to call your Representative, if you're going to ask anyone else in your network to call their Representative, you have to do it now. We expect a floor vote relatively soon — we're down to the final few hours.

i think it should be a bigger story that the president held a meeting with a foreign head of state where he ranted about the most gutter white supremacist propaganda you can find on the internet

Raise your voice! I just did. Restricting COVID-19 vaccines makes no sense whatsoever.

I say without any irony or sarcasm: yes, thank you, we want parliamentary sabotage. Again, I'm 100% serious. It's one of the few things a minority party can do, and which Republicans themselves did. It's essential.

“Legislators shouldn’t stay in office into their 70s given the demands of the job and its high stakes” is actually a completely different sentiment than “people in their 70s are thoroughly useless and should be set adrift on ice floes”

Love a good benchslap

🚨 A new rule would let career scientists like NSF/NIH program officers be replaced by political appointees Already 14,000+ public comments, deadline is Friday 📣 Comments can be short. Courts consider them—and scientists with NSF/NIH experience are especially impactful Speak up! shorturl.at/WKuBj

Happy 20th to the single greatest frame in movie history

You have three days, starting today, to leave a public comment with the FDA about, say, why COVID-19 boosters should remain available to everyone and also free. "Individual consumer" is the category you most likely want (unless you are one of the other categories; if so, choose that).

Massively good news: The provision that would have let the trump administration strip the tax-exempt status of any nonprofit organization they wanted simply by declaring them to be a "terrorist supporting organization" has been removed from the budget bill. Pushing back against these people works.

It's shocking how rare it is for politicians to tell folks to call their reps. Such a basic thing, and so few dare to step on the toes of their colleagues and encourage it. So high five to Warren, and please do call your reps and tell them NO cuts to Medicaid. You can find 'em here: reps.fyi

A reminder that Hassan voted for Noem to be Secretary, so joke's on you, Hassan, you voted for this

Schiff and Gillbrand voting for cloture on the GENIUS Act which will further enrich crypto scammers, Booker voting to confirm Charles Kushner as Ambassador to France … why the fuck can’t Senate Democrats learn to vote NO? This is why everything feels so pointless: not even token opposition by Dems.

really wondering what the point of booker holding the floor for 25hr was if he's just gonna vote to advance trump's criminal nominees anyways

BREAKING: The interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey just announced that the charges against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka have been dismissed.

Just called Gillibrand's office AGAIN about this. New Yorkers, feel free to call her yourself: 202-224-4451 Everyone else, you can find your senators at reps.fyi

The extra-extreme members of the House Budget Committee voted "present" tonight so that the Medicaid-cuts-to-fund-tax-giveaways-for-the-rich bill could pass out of committee 17-16. Tomorrow, flood Capitol Hill switchboards to voice your opposition to this monstrosity. 202-224-3121.

My friend Rose has been through so much and she’s an incredible person. This was such whiplash and makes me so sad for her. None of this should have happened.

This is a warcrime and should be reported as such by news organizations IN THE FUCKING HEADLINE

I’m gonna be honest. This is going better than expected. #GoldenStateValkyries #WNBA

States rights, unless... 😉

The "One big beautiful bill" — I'm choking on those words — failed in committee. It didn't fail because cutting Medicaid is deeply unpopular, which it is. It failed because Republicans want to cut Medicaid more. Let that sink in.

HAPPY #WNBA SEASON OPENER TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE. 🏀

This kid is 15, and so has a moral clarity and uprightness that no adult elected official would or could ever have. There aren't really and never have been two sides of this issue, but if it has to be argued as a binary thing I don't see how anything less than this could seem like the side to be on.

I get that the Trump corruption is blatant and infuriating, but the Democrats are so very bad at this. www.sun-sentinel.com/2025/05/14/d...

This thread is an amazing play by play of the 14th amendment arguments before SCOTUS

Love getting surprised by Canadian holidays as a contractor for a Canadian company. I was bad enough at remembering American holidays, and now BOOM. Victoria Day.

Personally I was super happy to have my tax dollars funding science, humanities, and education. Seemed like a great investment. More so than burning it all down.

At some point, Democrats in Congress will have to accept the Trump regime does not accept they’re a legitimate participant in government—and start acting accordingly.

so the members of congress just stopped going to el salvador and not a single person who was illegally sent there has been returned and that’s just how it is now?

I sometimes think about the former coworker who texted me outside of work hours to argue with me after I called Elon a piece of shit online. I wonder how he feels about that now.

Please share and give if you can

What is UP today?! There is a "10 year ban on regulating anything to do with AI" before the House Committee. Absolutely not! Call and write your reps and tell them why a total lack of regulation for the plagiarism machine is not in Americans' best interests.
