My venture, A.N.T. Farms, develops practices in “conservation agriculture”—sustainable food production that doesn’t require forests to be razed or wetlands drained. I also work in communications; media; tech, data & LLM analysis and spent 15 yrs in DC.

“If I were now still in that same position [as in 1975] and I had to go live somewhere, it would not be America, because it's not a democracy at the moment,"

On it. Doing what I can. Looking for others to build a few sustainable solutions. A.N.T. Farms.

Keeps happening on their side.

“Earlier today, the US embassy in Jerusalem said it is not in a position to “evacuate or directly assist” Americans in departing Israel and that it will be closed on Tuesday.“ @theguardian.com

“US intelligence assessments have found Iran was not actively pursuing a nuclear weapon and would have been up to three years away from being able to deliver one, CNN is reporting. The assessments, sourced to four people familiar with them…” ~The Guardian

Does anyone, at the moment, see us coming out the other side of all of this in any sort of viable state? I’m showing up for the ecosystem and for anyone else who is showing up for the ecosystem. I have zero bandwidth left for anything or anyone else.

HOW is all of this happening? How can any of this be?

I does not feel to me that things are going to go down the way Trump and Israel think. One can hope. But, it certainly feels like they are suffering a deadly dearth of imagination and are about to be roundly kicked in the teeth, very hard. Both countries will be damaged, along with Iran. Dumb fks.

Some very awesome people offer you this:

Killing the trees of life A third of all forest loss this century is irreversible. 34% (177 million hectares) of all global forest loss between 2001 and 2024 is permanent, as trees in those areas are unlikely to grow back naturally www.euronews.com/green/2025/0...

I have been scanning news coverage of the military parade and, so far, the streets and fields of DC appear very sparsely occupied. Perhaps photos are from early in the day? If the parade route is empty, I hope those in the Army understand it is not about them or the service. It’s about you-know-who.

Great to see these @standupforscience.bsky.social "Teach Ins" happening across the country. actionnetwork.org/event_campai...

Seeing all the "last day" posts from EPA staff today is heartbreaking. You deserved so much better, my friends.

Weakening the Iranian regime, getting China out of our industries, removing *illegal* immigrants are all good things that few reasonable people would quibble with. But, the atavistic grossness of the mobsters diminishes these gains. Nothing obscures how profoundly disgusting these people are.
