Ehud Olmert on previously defending Israel against accusations of war crimes: “In recent weeks I’ve been no longer able to do so. What we are doing in Gaza now is a war of devastation: the indiscriminate, limitless, cruel and criminal killing of civilians. […] Yes, Israel is committing war crimes.”

The most important achievement of the right in the C21st has been the invention of an all-powerful "establishment" that does not include the editor of the Sunday Telegraph, the world's richest media moguls, the party that was in govt for 14 years, Boris Johnson or the billionaire president of the US

Terrific column by @robertshrimsley.bsky.social: www.ft.com/content/3daf...

Labour has a whopping great majority and four years left to turn this country around. They should be setting the agenda, not chasing about trying to placate voters of a party with five MPs who will never vote for them anyway. It's not only disappointing... it's embarrassing

Since the general election, Labour has lost more than three times as many voters to the Lib Dems as to Reform. So why is Labour so terrified of the populists? By Mr Pecksniff - follow him on his account! @pecksniffsdiary.bsky.social

If Reform win in 2029, Labour might as well shut up shop. It's simple and stark: they will NEVER be forgiven. People will always know that it was a self-inflicted loss by some of the most blinkered stubborn people ever to enter politics. And gifting Britain a far right government is intolerable.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social This is a unhinged headline on so many levels www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/05...

In electing a serious and fearless progressive, the College of Cardinals looks like pretty much the only electorate in the world that hasn't had its brains boiled by far right propaganda & toxic social media. For a Catholic of my generation, this is an almost unbelievable development.

Nuclear war it is then.

Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. 🎉 Sir David Attenborough, thank you for a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with wisdom, wonder, and grace. You've inspired generations to fall in love with nature.

this is very awkward for Kemi Badenoch

Milei looks like a 70’s Welshman who passed out drunk on his nephew’s stag do in Brynamman RFC & mysteriously woke up in the Vatican

Gary Lineker: "This is the mistake the BBC makes. The BBC tries to appease the people that hate the BBC, rather than worrying about the people that love the BBC."
