Had a long overdue in-person catch-up session with my BFF & now reading Patricia Field’s Pat In The City (which I am loving, makes me think about the 1st time I went back to NYC as a “grownup” in the ‘90s) while drinking some Vanilla Earl Grey tea (because it’s cold tonight!).

Made Green Goddess Nachos last night & drank with a Cowbell Brewing Company Cerveza (refreshing!) while listening to the Leafs losing…😭 I’ve accepted they will not win the Stanley Cup in my lifetime. 😁

Yesterday so many errands for Mom - raking, trimming the hedge, buying new hoses, changing garage light bulb, helping her phone friends. Treated ourselves to Le Beau’s Turkey Pear Brie Sourdough Sandwich (delicious!) + Flat White & picked up Apple Pie & Chocolate Gianduja croissants. 😋

Up & down Victoria Day long weekend: attended the Ukrainian funeral of a long-time client of my BF’s. The church was beautiful & the priest’s words about losing someone we love was so touching. The skies opened up & started pouring at the burial, like Heaven was crying too. 💔

I don't think there's a clearer or more truthful way to assess the spectacle that is Pierre Poilievre. It's truly pathetic to still see his usual rhetoric — dude, you lost! Bring yourself home or whatever slogan it is you use. But sit tf down! I wish they showed Barton’s face though.

Found these two cookbooks my Mom gave me years ago and I’m asking her to translate some of the recipes she likes into English for me. Already she is frustrated/annoyed 😂 as one recipe doesn’t use measurements, just currency amounts. Like if we said use $5 of all purpose flour in the directions. 😳

What an absolutely sunshiney beautiful Mother’s Day filled with lots of eating! 😂 Neo’s Iced Latté & Café au Lait with Cheese Spinach Croissant, Grandma Loves You Mortadella Sandwich & I ordered takeout Prime Rib Dinners which included dessert but I added Neo’s Sakura Cake. Mom ate it all! 👏🏻🙌🏻

It’s my Mom & Dad’s wedding anniversary today. They were married 51 years. I love these 2 pictures: after the church ceremony & going to the reception at my Godmother’s home and a tripod selfie on their honeymoon in Niagara Falls. Dad was an avid photographer so of course he brought his tripod!

I have loved @saveur.com magazine for over 20 years (I even had a blurb in one issue ☺️). My Dad would renew a subscription for me every Xmas. 💗 So I’m chuffed to see it in print again after a hiatus. Reading it makes me excited about food & all its possibilities and just makes me smile.
