Hello! I know it's a Friday afternoon so maybe this will get buried, 😅 but I'd love to talk to folks who spent a ton of time playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and then fell off. This is for a story I'm working on for The Verge, so HMU if I could ask you a couple of questions for the story!

anyway here's the email I sent to jim bankoff last week. i'm still heartbroken. I have been insanely, destructively angry for weeks, and I think I will be for a long time.

We condemn Vox Media’s May Day decision to lay off a majority of @polygon.com staff w/o warning as part of the sale to known media-brand-destroyer Valnet. We stand in solidarity with the staff who were laid off, and with @voxmediaunion.bsky.social in their ongoing contract negotiations.

Nothing does passive aggressive like the Apple Watch does passive aggressive

I know I’m an old head but I played one round of the Marathon alpha and I was… bored? The art style and design are so intriguing to me, but I’ve yet to click with an extraction shooter. What am I missing? (Aside from friends to play extraction shooters with..)

If you’ve also been devastated by the news of Polygon’s sale and mass layoff of most of its staff, please consider donating to this fund set up by our union. This money will go directly to our colleagues who lost their jobs in the blink of an eye yesterday. www.gofundme.com/f/support-po...

Polygon wasn't just another games media site, it was a bastion of creativity and unique voices. The people who worked there cultivated a loyal audience through their detailed oral histories, thoughtful video essays, and excellent journalism. The people who worked there deserved so much better.

Only thing better than staring at a giant OLED panel is knowing you got a screaming deal on it. That’s why I love my huge 77-inch LG C3 OLED TV. www.theverge.com/tech/651072/...

Imagine if Apple made a Proton compatibility layer for MacOS that just worked with most games like the Steam Deck?

I’ve wished for a long time that a MacBook Pro could double as a gaming laptop. The Razer Blade 16 is one of the closest substitutes. Though it still has (and maybe will always have) some significant trade-offs. www.theverge.com/reviews/6495...

Ok, seriously, what the hell is going on with Razer and its laptop sales? www.theverge.com/news/651199/...

I reviewed the new Framework Laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU. These modular laptops are so good, and this is the best one yet. If you're considering one, do yourself a favor and get a DIY Edition. You save money and it's fun (and easy af) to put together. www.theverge.com/reviews/6506...

Had a bit of fun with the lighting on these photos of Angry Miao’s new Infinity Mouse. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea design-wise, but I love this thing and it’s handy magnetic rechargeable batteries. www.theverge.com/hands-on/630...

Apple’s got a new MacBook Air with a chip bump to the M4, a new color, and a couple small new features like the Center Stage webcam. BOR-INNNNNNG…🥱 Oh, but it’s $100 cheaper?? 😳❗️ www.theverge.com/news/620695/...

New review up on @theverge.com I tested Asus’s latest ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet with AMD Strix Halo, and I still cant believe I’ve been won over by integrated graphics. www.theverge.com/reviews/6219...

It’s the early-morning witching hour for east coast dads to test Elden Ring Nightreign before the baby wakes up. Here we go! Oh. 🤦🏻

I reviewed Dell's latest XPS 13 laptop with Intel Lunar Lake processor — likely the last one before it's renamed "Dell Premium." Come for the lowest score I've ever given anything, but stay for my ranting about this terrible keyboard and infuriating function row. www.theverge.com/reviews/6111...

Everyone gonna be clowning on Mahomes (deserved) and Kelce (also deserved) but I just wanna take a moment to clown on Harrison Butker because he's a racist, a misogynist, and a homophobe and I'm glad he hasn't even had an opportunity to kick a field goal tonight. Go fuck yourself Butker.

Coworker: Oh right, you’re a coffee guy. Me: No, I’m a caffeine bottom feeder.

As someone who married into a New England family: at least the Patriots knew they were the bad guys. Kansas City thinks it’s the hero.

Had a fun one with this. I attached a controller to Asus’s new ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet and used it like a 13-inch Steam Deck. I wanted a taste of what Acer’s upcoming Nitro Blaze 11 may offer, and now I stan these big-boi handhelds. Switch 2 XL when??? www.theverge.com/2025/1/17/24...

It ain’t just Dell. The “words have no meaning now” brain rot has infected so many companies. Can’t wait for Danone to release the Oikos Pro Max next year.

For lunch I put a spoonful of peanut butter into my peach yogurt, so I'm obviously about to get swole
