A few words about “peaceful protests.” 1. At least 5% of people are uncontrollable assholes and will behave badly in any situation, let alone a high-tension one. So a large protest without ANYONE throwing shit, yelling slurs or for violence, etc. is likely not achievable. /1

The same reasoning is a lesson for Putin as well. Each country or region or state or society have learned a certain way on how they deal with authority, and it’s culturally passed on in an intuitive way, a type of attitude. Ukrainians are not (white) Russians, and Americans aren’t either.
