MAS*H was perfect TV because it realized the film's meanness and misogyny was a weakness. The characters needed to grow. Letting Major Houlihan change from being a tight-assed scold subject to misogynistic pranks to a fully formed woman was necessary. Loretta Swit made it happen naturally. RIP.

I think part of actively counteracting this callous behavior on the part of Republicans (as opposed to merely being justifiably horrified by it, or lashing out) is to make personal commitments to be the OPPOSITE in real ways.

Margaret Houlihan was one of the few truly strong women role models I had growing up. She was my favorite on MAS*H mostly because Ms. Swit masterfully guided her evolution on the show, giving a 2 dimensional villain depth & made us all fall in love with Hot Lips! The world is a sadder without her.

I’m devastated to hear my friend of 50 years has passed. Just spoke to her 2 days ago & she was her usual feisty, hysterically funny self. This is a hard one. I was her 1st house guest in her new home in 1975 & helped her paint her NYC apartment. Just heartbroken. So hard to lose old friends.💔💔💔

Meanwhile, in South Korea, this is the Seoul Museum of Art dedicated entirely to photography. It’s in Dobong-gu District, and apparently there’s also a really cool Robotics & AI Museum nearby as well. The photography museum houses over 20,000 works and archival materials. #Architecture
