Application deadline extended to July 4th - don't miss the opportunity, well worth it

When the Soviet Union collapsed, their health system infrastructure also fell. Combine that with changing vaccine requirements to try and cut costs, and sowing distrust in vaccines, and you got one of the biggest outbreaks of diphtheria in the vaccine era.

@EURLdiphtheriaPertussis, the European reference laboratory for #diphtheria and #pertussis, supported by @ecdc.europa.eu, has opened its website. European Union and EEA reference laboratories can learn about opportunities of getting involved in EQAs, training and other capacity building activities

@danielleingle.bsky.social giving a great overview of genomics of emerging #antimicrobial resistance in #Australia @pasteur.fr

Excited to share the lab's 1rst preprint! Rapid high-res immunofluorescence is now possible in cultured & environmental diatoms thanks to 4-fold expansion microscopy. A step-change for comparative cell biology in one of the most important phytoplankton groups on the planet 🥳 tinyurl.com/m9s5su7s 1/2

🇪🇺 The Institut Pasteur is pleased to announce that two research units, "Lyssavirus, Epidemiology and Neuropathology" and "Biodiversity and Epidemiology of Bacterial Pathogens," have been designated as European Union Reference Laboratories (EURLs).

The BIGSdb-Pasteur project, running under my supervision since 20 years, is looking for a project manager - great opportunity to contribute to this high-profile international resource in the field of reference strain taxonomies, genomic epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance surveillance

We’re pleased to share two new preprints with results from a structured survey of carbapenem- and/or colistin-resistant Enterobacterales (CCRE), conducted in 37 European countries in 2019. E. coli: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.... K. pneumoniae: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

In 2022, Western Europe experienced the largest rise in reported #diphtheria cases in 70 years - with 320 C. diphtheriae cases compared with an annual average of 27 from 2016-2022. How can genetic data of outbreak strains inform targeted interventions? Find out @nejm.org👇🏽👇🏽 #IDSky #MedSky #EpiSky

La désinformation en santé, ça tue ! Et ce fut notamment le cas pendant la pandémie de Covid 19.
