AOC: “It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

it’s even more demoralizing when the history you’re repeating is history you were around for the first time

Briefing only one party leadership on a decision to put American forces in harms way is a massive violation of norms. I mean, yeah, "norms", but still a break worth noting

Folks look at you like you’re crazy when you say we’re in the midst of the worst, most unprecedented constitutional crisis in 🇺🇸 history, & then, well, here it is, all in one post:

this is as good as turning the Constitution off. If this is what congressional leaders are going to do when an executive just seizes power from the legislative branch, we do not have one.

Right now, someone at State is gleefully putting together lists of grad students who wrote op-eds.

Tomorrow is a very good day to impeach a president and his entire cabinet. Today would be good too, but tomorrow will work for me.

I’ll say it again: It was a huge mistake for Congress to abolish itself.

There's no declaration of war, and no AUMF that covers this. Entering this war is wrong on the merits; we had a perfectly peaceful way to address Iran's nuclear program. It's also unlawful. A democratic republic should not be able to enter a war of choice on one man's say-so.

"thank you for your attention to this matter" as you are quite plausibly starting World War III has to be the stupidest shit I've ever read

I will be curious to see what legal authority the administration cites for this unauthorized act of war. Crazy stretch of the facts to fit some existing AUMF or just Article 2 Section LEEROY JENKINS

Personally I am unfamiliar with any legitimate activity that requires switching license plates, which by the way is illegal.

This is a nice profile of Mark. We both agree - and have spoken about - the fact the rate of return is too high. Setting the rate of return on equity equal to the actual cost of capital is the public power model. Public power is *the* cheapest ownership model.

Even though they’re in the minority, Congressional Democrats have a lot of tools they can use here. In addition to showing up at detention centers etc, Dems can grind the Senate to a halt, push impeachment articles against Noem in the House, and more. Flood the zone.

the Parliamentarian dropped a list of stuff that isn't eligible for reconciliation and this is the first time i'm hearing that they're trying to steal the Smithsonian's space shuttle this is (irrationally) the most upset i've been in a while

The Dilley detention center doesn't have good water because of all the fracking nearby. I volunteered there several years ago & it's a nightmare.

Of course, Vance didn't apologize for misspeaking but is instead doubling down on the trolling. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

We still have no idea who the ICE agents are. They could be insurrectionists, extremist militiamen or criminals themselves, chasing law-abiding citizens down the street for recording their kidnappings. The odds they aren't are low. Congress must raise hell about this. A masked gang runs our country.

The article also describes how this U.S. citizen encounters another U.S. citizen who was arrested for trying to stop ICE from kidnapping someone, and how ICE surrounded a truck and broke a window to apprehend the people inside (which sounds like is captured on video).

An ICE officer said, "I don't need a warrant." Things are escalating. We may end up striking simply because we all fear going out. Soon, they will get anyone off the streets for "harboring" people. The ones they released didn't get their phones back. Glendale, CA.

At a meeting with economists, I said the way they/we do benefit-cost analysis (Kaldor-Hicks where winners could compensate losers) hasn’t broadly worked. It’s not that Kaldor-Hicks was wrong, it’s that society didn’t actually compensate the losers. So the political durability of the method eroded.

BREAKING: Mahmoud Khalil speaks out after being released from ICE detention. "The Trump administration are doing their best to dehumanize everyone here," Khalil said.

Jimmy here is a real student of theater so good to hear him weigh in on this.

Pham came to the U.S. as a refugee when he was a child and is now the first Vietnamese American to lead a diocese in the U.S.

VP Vance just called California Senator Alex Padilla “Jose Padilla” during his press conference in Los Angeles.

And fighting against clean energy, as Congressional Republicans are doing, will make costs go up more. 🔌💡

Can anyone explain why repealing the authorizing language for every other IRA grant program in the reconciliation bill violates the Byrd Rule, but not the GGRF? I really used to think I understood the Byrd Rule. www.budget.senate.gov/ranking-memb...

Except me. For years I have been calling for more socialists and anarchists on the boards of Fortune 500 companies.

I would suggest starting with sheriffs

BREAKING: A federal judge has ordered Mahmoud Khalil *released* from detention, per @eorden.bsky.social

OK i’ve seen almost no media outlet pick up on the fact the Supreme Court ruling endorsed conversion therapy and opens a portal to the normalization of conversion therapy nationally so here’s a thread explaining how they did so, and why you should care (1/x)
