"Matt Murdock is selfish above all else, he just doesn't realize it most of the time". The line is so raw, I keep thinking about it for weeks now. For instance, Matt always puts DD over his obligation to Foggy and law practice basically since Stan Lee's run.

And it's a wrap. Brubaker easly makes for me to top 4 DD writers. His Matt is so flawed, just reaching new lows in this run. It feels like this run and Shadowland mirrors "Born Again" low and Nocenti's "climbing up" would be Waid's run, or it just looks similar... This read was very compelling. 6/6

In the meantime, I finished Bendis' DD run, and I'm into book 3 of Brubaker. I admit I like Brubaker more, even if both runs are similar regarding tone and quality. For me, Bendis puts the superhero on the shelf, while Brubaker embraces it more without compromising the realistic tone set before.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox8Z... I'm crazy about this political notion that the trailer contains. It seems this Superman sees himself as the OG 1930s version of him was, fighting general injustice, while the government sees him as a patriotic superhero or just an American asset.

Reading AC #1086 felt so heartwarming, as Superman comics should be.

I like Marvel x Godzilla Crossovers for pitting against each hero and team Goji from their prime decades. E.g., Fantastic Four was fighting KingGoji from 1962's King Kong vs Godzilla, and X-Men are fighting the Heisei version of Goji from the 80s and 90s, when X-Men were at the top.

@kurtbusiek.bsky.social 's Tunderbolts are such a good book. Definitely among my top 10 Marvel titles ever

Thanks for the recommendation @1031books.bsky.social. I didn't know I needed Daredevil and Spider-Man acting like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in the face of danger.

This new, changed Luthor grows on me. He is not an evil guy anymore, but an average/okay man willing to do more than Superman to save people. Luthor's remark that Supes is Man of Steel, but he is the Man of Tomorrow, goes very strongly. This is truly the Summer of Superman.

Last week, I read the previous volume 1 issues and Guardian Devil. You can enjoy Kevin Smith's writing without any buildup, but all this background from Miller, Nocenti, even the Armor era, and Joe Kelly makes those tidbits of Matt's life mentioned in both books so rewarding.

Daredevil #-1 felt so good after those pre-Kelly issues of the 1990s DD. I'm right after the "Widow's Kiss" storyline and Joe Kelly's writing is enjoyable, reminding me about Spider-Man TAS a bit. Gene Colan's art is an extra treat, even if not as perfect and sharp. Need to explore his other works.

I find this issue very entertaining and intriguing. I want to stick around and see when I will lose my interest. The last time, I managed to get to vol. 6 of Zdarsky's run, but back then, I had some expectations.
