In a lot of ways, Arak was an ideal outcome of the JCPOA. Emptied and filled in with cement since 2016 in a cooperative program to verifiably foreclose the plutonium route. Then under ~tentative plan to reopen with the Chinese in a proliferation resistant design. So of course they're bombing it

Another interesting detail in this tritium report is a postulated accident involving a T gas-filled exit sign would result in a max dose for an installer of 84 mrem! Working in ops at a BWR I might get 10-20 mrem during a busy outage shift. My highest dose from one job, iirc, was around 50 mrem.

I deleted my US-Iran “60 day timeline” post because President Trump is correct if you take the April 12 when negotiations first started as day 1, which I guess that’s probably what it was. Are there any sources that can confirm this? 60 days was a goal but was it ever stated as a “deadline”?

A note on this: Israel is calling this operation a "preemptive" one; this is incorrect. It is preventive (which is illegal under international law). Netanyahu himself suggested Iran was "months" to "a year" away from a nuclear weapon capability in his speech announcing the operation.
