Going to a tech conference? Don’t wing it. Join ‪@jasontorres.bsky.social‬ + RenderATL pro Lawrence Lockhart for insider tips on how to stand out & brand yourself like a boss 🔥 📅 June 9 | 1 PM EST 🎯 Topic: Personal Branding 🔗 torc.community

you want to know you are building something special? 8 people are getting the torc gear logo tattooed on them next week at render

if you want to catch all my past live streams and my vlogs: www.youtube.com/@tdesseyn/st...

reminder if you think you will be on the job search....like...ever. go ahead and sign up for our jobs platform: platform.torc.dev#/r/taylor/cp

hey nashville tech dads! throwing a @dadsintech meetup tomorrow! guild.host/events/nashv...

conference tip: while im usually against business cards i do think they are useful in situations where you meet someone forget to connect on linkedin then have to run somewhere else.

conference tip: this maybe a hot take but you dont have to go to every session and every event at night. pace yourself. its okay to have an hour or two in your room to recharge.

my vision for the @torcdotdev community is for folks to network off the back of my 13 years of networking in this industry

conference tip: create a list of speakers and individuals you know are attending and be focused on meeting those people so you at least feel you had a successful week.

my recent convo with the legend himself @theclarksell just dropped great conversation about redefining yourself and whats next for clark open.spotify.com/episode/08Eo...

just sent out connection/messages to all the folks im mc'ing at render. if you didnt get one... im sorry. 🙈

would love to have you apart of our @dadsintech group. we are having a nashville lunch soon and our virtual meetup. guild.host/dads-in-tech...

dropping a pretty long newsletter friday on everything that we've been up to at @torcdotdev would love to have you along for the journey taylordesseyn.substack.com

the @torcdotdev team is putting together a little lunch hang wednesday at @renderatl super low key. would love to have you if you are needing a lunch friend. guild.host/events/torc-...

the community we've already started to build in LATAM with @torcdotdev is pretty awesome. when i show up to a meetup with help organize and i know about half the folks there? pretty amazing.

gotta love the torc discord lol

my conversation with the legend @wking_ just dropped on how to navigate your career with AI as a junior dev open.spotify.com/episode/4yR3...

grateful for the journey and for everyone who wants to be apart of what we are building 🙏 🙏

i think you should put some hobbies on your resume. i think it really goes a long way in turning an interview into a conversation quickly.

time. to. run. it. back. 3rd time as a host/emcee for @renderatl whats even more special about this year is that the @torcdotdev team will be there and about 10 of our ambassdors. if you see us, introduce yourself!

being in a band really taught me everything about how to build community

being nice goes a long way in your career

most important part of your linkedin? the words under your profile pic. recruiters can't open up every profile so they look at keywords in this tag line.

if you get laid off. take time for yourself. it's okay. @colinlord

if i were a first timer at a conference like @renderatl coming up here is what id do: - live tweet every session - take a selfie with folks you have a cool convo with, post it, tag them - every session you go to create one linkedin post every day after the conference - connect on LI with everyone

there is a difference between mass applying vs. cold applying mass = not editing anything on your resume and applying to anything cold = being intentional about how you submit but still not knowing anyone at the company

i think if you truly distill down how to 'build community' its just liking/commenting/replying to everyone for like 3-5 years on social media it works. its wild lol

i had the chance to hang with @bytesofbree recently on my live stream and our convo just dropped!! such an amazing conversation about the power of being positive in your job search open.spotify.com/episode/2WeW...

if there is one thing about me, imma be dropping stuff, spilling stuff, or complaning about stuff

pretty pumped that my @spring_io talk dropped on their youtube yesterday!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9_i...

first time ive worked at a staffing company that actually cared about the dev community

some KILLER pics from @dDoutsiopoulos from my session at @spring_io absolute HEAT

the whole goal of an interview is to make it more conversational as fast as you can and this feature could help

we got a TON going on within the torc community this week. would love to see you on a stream! torc.community

while were not at ai taking peoples jobs in software, it is doing something to the staffing industry

. @dadsintech has some events coming up: guild.host/dads-in-tech...

why @torcdotdev works 1. no spam jobs 2. community first 3. most communication comes from the community team aka me/jason/briana/ximena etc etc

my conversation with @raechellambert just dropped!! amazing conversation around her busienss, the power of community and what she looks for when she hires within her company! open.spotify.com/episode/1pFx...
